GAC opened presales for the Trumpchi ES9 plug-in hybrid SUV in China on October 1, 2023, with four configurations priced from 229,800 to 269,800 yuan. A customized Huawei Mate 60 Pro was offered only to qualifying participants in a named presale activity, with the phone supplied at vehicle delivery; it was not an unconditional or ongoing purchase benefit.
What is the GAC Trumpchi ES9?
The ES9 is a plug-in hybrid SUV sold in China under GAC Trumpchi. GAC announced its presale on October 1, 2023, and later reported that the model launched on October 28, 2023. GAC’s presale announcement establishes the opening date; the launch date comes from its 2023 annual report.
In that annual report, GAC lists 143 km of CLTC electric-mode range and 1,215 km of CLTC combined-mode range. These are manufacturer-reported figures under the CLTC test cycle, not real-world range guarantees.
How much did the Trumpchi ES9 cost in China?
Xinhua reported four presale configurations, with prices spanning 229,800 to 269,800 yuan. The report also noted a 20,000-yuan trade-in subsidy; eligibility and applicable terms should not be assumed to extend beyond that reported promotion.

Did the ES9 come with a free Huawei Mate 60 Pro?
Not automatically. Xinhua described the customized Huawei Mate 60 Pro as a conditional presale promotion, rather than a phone included with every ES9 purchase. Customers had to participate in the “Trumpchi ES9 Super Charging Station” activity through GAC’s official app or mini-program and book the vehicle on or before its launch date. The phone was to be provided when the vehicle was handed over, according to Xinhua’s October 7, 2023 report.
This was a historical China-market offer associated with the 2023 presale. GAC’s current model page does not verify that the phone promotion remains available, and the available sources do not establish current ES9 inventory or whether any buyer can still claim the offer.
