It ran from July 25 to December 11, 2024, so its event dates and rewards are historical; they are not currently available to earn through those events.
What was the Mobil 1 Legend vs. Leaderboard Rivals Series?
Mobil 1 and Forza Motorsport marked Mobil 1’s 50th anniversary with a sequence of Featured Rivals challenges. Each event paired a car and Maple Valley course layout with a timed lap set by a professional driver. Players ran the same challenge and compared times on leaderboards against friends, regional players and competitors worldwide. Forza’s event listing explains the Rivals format and distinguishes it from Time Attack, which allows custom-tuned cars and player-selected tracks.

Mobil 1 announced five events scheduled from July 25 through December 11, 2024. The sponsor described Maple Valley as a 4.81 km virtual course. The series began with Tony Stewart and subsequently featured Jamie Chadwick, Jenson Button and Tyler Reddick in documented event listings. The launch announcement said each event would bring a new challenge, prizes and content. Mobil 1’s July 26, 2024 announcement introduced the campaign.

The event listings show how the challenge changed from one driver to another. Dates below are the 2024 event windows, not current availability.

Event details are drawn from the Tony Stewart listing, the Jamie Chadwick listing, Forza’s Jenson Button listing, and its Update 14 article covering Tyler Reddick.
Why the Jamie Chadwick details differ
Mobil 1’s advance announcement gave an August 29–September 11 window and said Chadwick would drive a 1967 Corvette. Forza’s subsequent event listing gives August 29–September 12, a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, the Full Circuit layout and the 1:54.859 target. The table uses Forza’s event listing for the final in-game specifications and reward.

How did you beat a driver’s lap?
In a Featured Rivals event, the challenge was to post a faster valid time than the professional driver’s benchmark. The selected event supplied the car and track combination; it was not the open-ended custom-car format of Time Attack. Leaderboards let players judge their result against friends and broader regional and global rankings.
There was no single reward rule for the whole series. The documented events used different conditions: participation for Stewart’s race suit, setting a lap for Chadwick’s credits, a top-50% leaderboard finish for Button’s suit, and a clean lap for Reddick’s suit. Because these event windows ended in 2024, the listed conditions do not provide a way to claim those rewards now.

The Xbox prize was separate from playing the events
The campaign also advertised a chance to win a Mobil 1-wrapped Xbox Series X signed by racing drivers. That was a separate promotional prize, not equipment required to enter a Rivals challenge. The cited promotion does not establish that entry is still open or that the prize can still be claimed; its promotion page is the source for the advertised prize.

The Legend vs. Leaderboard series is best understood as a dated 2024 collaboration, not a live event calendar. Its surviving event details document the cars, layouts, targets and reward rules for several challenges, but do not make those past event rewards currently earnable. The campaign’s subject was the in-game Rivals experience: Mobil 1 supplied the anniversary branding, while the player’s task was to chase a professional benchmark around Maple Valley.
