The claim that Forza Horizon 5’s PS5 port was ready before its release was delayed has not been officially confirmed. What was claimed about the PS5 port?
On November 27, 2024, Insider Gaming reported that leaker eXtas1s said the PS5 version had already been made and that its release was halted or delayed the previous summer. The report did not explain what prompted the alleged hold. Pure Xbox also reported the claim, but neither outlet’s coverage makes it an official development confirmation.

That leaves three separate points: whether a PS5 port had been completed by summer 2024, whether its release was held back then, and whether it eventually came to PS5. The first two remain unverified claims; the third was later confirmed by Playground Games.

In its March 10 FAQ, Playground Games wrote, “Forza Horizon 5 is coming to PlayStation 5 this Spring!” On April 29, it said, “We are very excited to share that Forza Horizon 5 is now available for all players on PlayStation 5!” These official statements document the planned window and launch, rather than confirming the earlier leak.

Why was Forza Horizon 5 supposedly delayed on PS5?
The reason is not established in the available reporting or official announcements. Insider Gaming’s November 27, 2024 report said no reason had been revealed. Playground Games’ later announcements focused on the PS5 version’s development and release dates; they did not explain an earlier hold. Any specific explanation for the alleged delay would therefore go beyond what these sources confirm.

No. Playground Games confirmed the PS5 version was available on April 29, 2025. The earlier report described an alleged delay, not a confirmed cancellation. The game and its editions are listed through PlayStation Store; the official purchasing information reviewed establishes digital storefront availability, not a physical PS5 disc edition.
