There is no official horological championship, but the answer depends on what you count. TAG Heuer has the broadest role as Formula 1’s Official Timekeeper from 2025; IWC has one of the clearest team-watch stories, with Mercedes and a new 2026 watch. These are different kinds of partnerships, not a single league table.
Who is Formula 1’s official timekeeper in 2026?
TAG Heuer is Formula 1’s Official Timekeeper, a sport-wide role that began in 2025 as part of F1’s ten-year partnership with LVMH. That does not make TAG Heuer the watch sponsor of every team. F1’s partner page lists the Formula 1, Carrera and Monaco collections alongside the timekeeper relationship.
F1 said on 6 January 2025 that TAG Heuer was the first luxury brand to have its logo on an F1 car, in 1969, and the first to sponsor a team, in 1971. The same announcement attributed 230 wins, 595 podiums, 8,882 points, 11 World Constructors’ Championships and 14 World Drivers’ Championships to the brand’s team associations through that date. These are historical figures reported by Formula One World Championship Limited, not a current-season tally or an independent ranking.
Which F1 teams have watch partners in 2026?
The available 2026 overview reports watch partners for eight of the eleven teams. Confirmation is stronger for some entries than others: the table distinguishes official team or brand documentation from partnerships reported in that secondary overview. A reported entry should not be treated as equally verified or as proof of a contract’s current terms.

The overview is useful for seeing the reported breadth of the grid, but it is not a substitute for current team or brand announcements. Contracts can change, and the entries noted as secondary-only should be read as reported rather than fully corroborated.
Which team has a dedicated 2026 watch?
IWC announced reference IW388121 on 27 August 2026 as the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team watch. IWC describes it as a 41 mm chronograph made from Grade 5 titanium, with a vivid purple dial inspired by Singapore’s national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim. The brand says its Mercedes partnership began in 2013.

This makes IWC a strong contender for the most recognizable current team-watch example: a named team, an identifiable reference and a long-running relationship. It is not a verdict on watch quality or sponsorship value, neither of which is comparatively established here.
How to judge who “wins”
There is no official ranking of these partnerships. A useful comparison separates four different measures rather than treating every logo or product tie-in as equivalent:

The cited brand and F1 pages establish those relationships and product identities, not current retailer stock, pricing, or marketplace availability. Check the exact model and its official status with the seller; do not assume a generic TAG Heuer Formula 1 watch is an official team edition.
