What is Ford’s electric crate motor called?
Ford named it the Eluminator, part number M-9000-MACH-E. In its November 2, 2021 announcement, Ford said the motor was based on the traction motor used in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. Ford presented it as an option for electrifying vehicles such as older cars, trucks, and SUVs.
How many Eluminator motors did Ford sell?
The quantity is not known from the available reporting. A 2026 report says the motor sold out and that Ford did not say how many units it offered. It provides no figure to report, so any specific total would be speculation.
What are the Eluminator’s published specifications?
Ford’s launch announcement listed the single motor at 281 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Ford Performance’s 2021 SEMA product information listed a weight of 205 pounds and a maximum speed of 13,800 rpm. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.

Do not confuse the single motor with Ford’s F-100 concept
Ford’s F-100 Eluminator concept used two motors. Its combined setup should not be confused with the output figures for one crate motor.
Was the Eluminator a complete EV-conversion kit?
No complete conversion kit is established by Ford’s launch announcement. Ford described battery systems and controllers as possible parts of a broader future component portfolio, but that statement does not confirm that a complete kit or a current partner offer is available. Buyers should verify motor controls, battery and inverter requirements, vehicle fitment, support documentation, and applicable road-use and emissions rules before planning a conversion.

What did the Eluminator cost?
Ford Media Center France listed a launch price of $3,900 in its 2021 announcement. That is a historical launch price, not a current quote; the available information does not establish today’s price or availability.

Ford positioned the Eluminator as a way to bring electric propulsion to heritage vehicles as well as other conversions. At launch, Eric Cin, Ford’s global director of Vehicle Personalization, Accessories and Licensing, said: “Our F-100 Eluminator concept is a preview of how we’re supporting customers as they go all-electric and embrace zero-tailpipe emissions performance, even for our heritage vehicles.”
