Ford raised prices by up to $2,000 on some Mexico-built vehicles in 2025, including the Mustang Mach-E, after U.S. tariffs took effect. The increase applied to vehicles built after May 2, 2025—not every Mach-E, and not necessarily cars already on dealer lots. Ford did not disclose a trim-by-trim Mach-E price schedule.
Why did Ford raise the Mustang Mach-E price?
The increase was tied to U.S. tariffs on vehicles produced in Mexico. Reuters, in a report republished by Inc. on May 7, 2025, reported that Ford raised prices on some Mexico-produced Mustang Mach-E, Maverick and Bronco Sport models. The report said the maximum increase was $2,000 on some models; it did not specify the exact change for each Mach-E trim.
The same report said Ford estimated tariffs would add about $2.5 billion to its costs in 2025, and that the company expected to reduce that exposure by around $1 billion. Those were company-level estimates, not the tariff cost or price increase for an individual Mach-E.
Which Mustang Mach-E vehicles were affected?
A Ford spokesperson told Reuters that the price changes applied to vehicles built after May 2, 2025. Those vehicles were expected to reach dealerships in late June. The cutoff means the report does not support saying that all Mach-E inventory was repriced or that every vehicle on a dealer lot received the increase.

How did the Mach-E’s listed price compare?
Ford’s historical starting MSRP for the 2025 Mustang Mach-E and its current 2026 listing are different model-year price snapshots. They do not show the exact tariff adjustment on a particular 2025 vehicle, and the difference between them cannot be attributed entirely to tariffs.

What should buyers make of the increase?
For a specific vehicle, the build date, model year and configuration matter. A 2025 Mach-E built after the cutoff could have been subject to the reported adjustment, but the available report does not establish the amount for a given trim or VIN. Check the vehicle’s window sticker and ask the dealer to explain any price difference; do not assume that the $2,000 maximum applied to every Mach-E.
