What is different about the 40th anniversary edition?
The special edition’s main distinction is its retro black-and-white treatment, a visual nod to the first Nugget. Ford specifies Frozen White paint with black accents on the roof, shoulder line and side sill. It is a commemorative finish and trim package on one particular Nugget configuration, not a separate name for the whole model range.

Ford said the German edition’s starting price matched that of a comparable regular L2 Active. L2 buyers can choose the standard storage layout or an integrated toilet option. How the anniversary model fits the Nugget range
Ford Germany called the 2026 Nugget a fifth-generation model in its August 2026 range update. The broader range includes Titanium and Active trims, manual or automatic transmissions, front- or all-wheel drive, three diesel outputs and a plug-in hybrid. Those alternatives are range-wide specifications; they should not be read as available on the anniversary edition, whose announced specification is the diesel L2 Active automatic above. L1 or L2?
Ford gives the L1 length as 5.05 metres and says L2 is 40 centimetres longer. Compared with L1, the standard L2 layout provides 85 litres more kitchen storage and a wardrobe 200 litres larger; an integrated toilet is available as an L2 option. Ford describes both pop-top and fixed high-roof layouts in the broader range. Its overview says the fixed roof is intended to increase sleeping and storage space and support winter use. Why Ford calls it a 40th anniversary model
Ford’s heritage account dates the Nugget’s launch to 1986. Westfalia converted the original in Germany using a Ford Transit base.
