The Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon makes exposed carbon-fibre part of the car’s identity: it removes paint, adds bonded carbon-fibre door panels in place of sheet metal, and coordinates the visible material across the body. Ford says it weighs about 13 pounds (5.9 kg) less than a GTD Carbon Series equipped with the Performance Package. That is a comparison between specified configurations—not a published curb weight for Liquid Carbon.
What is the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon?
Liquid Carbon is a trim of the Mustang GTD, distinguished by an extensive exposed-carbon-fibre treatment. Ford describes the wings, side panels and dorsal elements as parts of a coordinated exterior. Rather than hiding the material under paint, the trim puts its carbon pattern on display. Ford’s 2025 announcement and its 2026 European GTD reference both describe the trim.
How much carbon fibre does it use, and how much weight does it save?
Ford says Liquid Carbon deletes paint and replaces the doors’ sheet metal with bonded carbon-fibre. The manufacturer’s stated result is about 13 pounds (5.9 kg) less than a Mustang GTD Carbon Series fitted with the Performance Package. Ford’s US announcement gives the approximate figure in pounds; its European reference gives the corresponding approximate figure in kilograms.
This does not establish Liquid Carbon’s curb weight, nor is it a measurement against every Carbon Series configuration. The comparison is specifically with the Carbon Series and Performance Package combination.

How does Liquid Carbon differ from the Carbon Series?

These are the distinctions Ford describes; the package’s performance-oriented aerodynamic and lightweight components should not be read as Liquid Carbon-only equipment. The Performance Package is standard on Liquid Carbon, while Ford’s weight comparison uses a Carbon Series that also has the package.
What are the cabin details?
Ford describes a black-leather and Dinamica microfiber-suede interior with Hyper Lime stitching. The seats have a reflective center gradient, adding a contrasting detail to the dark cabin. The exterior and interior treatments give the trim a distinct visual identity without implying a separate engine output.

What performance figures apply to the GTD?
Ford’s 2026 European reference lists the Mustang GTD’s supercharged 5.2-litre V8 at 815 SAE-certified horsepower (826 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm), paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle. These are GTD model figures, not a Liquid Carbon-specific output claim or independent test result. Ford’s US product page lists a 6-minute, 40.835-second Nürburgring time for the Mustang GTD; it is likewise a model-level figure, not a Liquid Carbon trim result.
