Ford’s FP800S Bronze MagneRide package is rated at up to 810 hp when fitted to a Mustang GT with active exhaust; Ford rates the 2025 Mustang Dark Horse at 500 hp. That is a 310-hp difference between Ford’s published figures, not the result of a controlled comparison. The key distinction: FP800S is an upgrade package for a GT, while Dark Horse is a complete Mustang model.

The output figures make the FP800S-equipped GT the higher-powered option on paper. They do not establish that it matches or beats the Dark Horse in handling, braking, durability, or lap times. Ford’s cited pages do not provide a controlled head-to-head test.
What the FP800S Bronze MagneRide package adds
Ford lists a Gen 6 3.0L Whipple supercharger, an air/oil separator, and a Ford Performance half-shaft upgrade. Chassis and appearance items include the tuned MagneRide suspension and calibration, bronze 19-inch R1 wheels, graphics, grille, badges, wheel spats, and additional trim. The listed package contents are on Ford’s product page.
The package’s wheels do not include tires. Ford Custom Garage recommends 305/30ZR19 tires at the front and 315/30ZR19 at the rear, and identifies that exclusion for the Dealer Channel Package on its package page. Confirm the exact package and tire fitment with the dealer before ordering.

Fuel, installation, and warranty conditions
- Fuel: Ford’s FP800S product listing specifies premium fuel of at least 91 octane.
- Installation: For Ford’s stated 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, installation must be performed by a Ford dealer or an ASE/Red Seal certified technician.
- Fitment: Ford describes the package for 2024–2026 Mustang GT models. Check the exact model year and vehicle configuration with a Ford dealer before purchase.
Price: compare the package with the kit carefully
The Ford Performance Parts catalog page accessed for this comparison displayed an $18,500 MSRP for the FP800S Bronze MagneRide package and a $10,500 MSRP for the Mustang GT and Dark Horse supercharger kit, part M-6066-M8800. These are catalog display prices, not guaranteed installed quotes; the catalog figures and model-year availability can change. The two listings should not be treated as equivalent: the full package includes suspension, wheels, and other components, while the kit is a separate catalog item. - Consider the FP800S package if you want a GT-based build with Ford-published supercharged output up to 810 hp and the package’s specified suspension and appearance upgrades, and you are prepared to confirm fitment, installation, tire costs, and current pricing.
- Consider the Dark Horse if you want Ford’s complete model with its published 500-hp naturally aspirated engine and standard MagneRide, rather than starting with a GT and adding a package.
Those are different ownership and equipment propositions, not just two horsepower numbers. The published specifications alone cannot determine which car is quicker on a track or better suited to a particular driver.
