The Escort’s production-representative prototype debuted in June 2026, with testing underway; that update does not confirm customer deliveries. Boreham lists 150 examples and starting prices of £295,000 in the UK and rest of the world and $400,000 in the US, before local taxes and options.
Who is building the continuation cars?
Boreham Motorworks, part of DRVN Automotive Group, is developing the cars under an official Ford brand licence. That is the precise sense in which they are “Ford-backed”: the available official announcements establish a licence, not that Ford itself is building or selling the vehicles. In Boreham’s June 2026 release, Ford Racing General Manager Will Ford described the project as a way to bring historic Ford nameplates to life for the modern era. Boreham’s 9 June 2026 update and the initial programme announcement set out the relationship.
What is the Escort Mk1 RS?
Boreham describes the Escort as an all-new vehicle built from the ground up, rather than a restoration or rebuild based on a donor Mk1 Escort. It uses continuation chassis numbers under the Ford agreement. Boreham calls this approach a “Continumod”; that is the company’s term for its project, not an independently established industry classification. The company’s 12 December 2024 announcement introduced the car and its continuation identity.
Latest announced specifications and price
Boreham’s latest detailed update, dated 9 June 2026, reports 330PS and confirmed capability to reach 10,000rpm, with a target weight of 895kg. It lists a worldwide run of 150 cars, with starting prices of £295,000 in the UK and rest of the world and $400,000 in the US, before local taxes and options. The release also lists a two-year/20,000-mile warranty. These are company-announced specifications, limits and commercial terms, not independent test results. See the June 2026 update.

What is confirmed about the RS200?
Boreham named the RS200 alongside the Escort when it announced its Ford-licensed continuation and remastered programme. The official material available here does not establish a current RS200 specification, build schedule, price or ordering status. It is therefore accurate to describe the RS200 as a planned programme, but not to infer that it shares the Escort’s technical details or timetable. The initial programme announcement
