Yes, a very low Ford lease payment can be a legitimate promotion—but the advertised monthly price is not the whole deal. The exact vehicle, ZIP code, eligibility rules, cash due at signing, mileage limit, fees and delivery deadline determine whether the offer applies to you. Get the full quote in writing and compare the total cost before deciding.
Is this Ford lease deal legit?
It can be. Ford’s local offers are tied to location and may change or expire, so a real advertisement does not guarantee that every shopper can get the displayed terms. Confirm the offer for your ZIP code and the specific vehicle you would lease. Ford directs shoppers to local dealers for qualifications and complete details.
For context, Ford’s Dallas, Plano and Arlington offers page showed a 2026 Mustang Mach-E Select at $499 per month for 36 months, with $2,774 due at signing, in pricing dated October 6, 2026. The offer specified Equipment Group 100A, stated that not all buyers qualify and residency restrictions apply, and said taxes, title and license fees were extra. It listed 31,500 total miles, a $0.20-per-mile excess-mile charge and a November 2, 2026 new-delivery deadline. The displayed upfront figure followed a stated $1,500 EV Public Charging Credit. These are terms from a dated local example—not a promise of the same price or eligibility everywhere. See Ford’s Dallas-area offer page.
Other local examples show why the monthly figure needs context: a Ford page with pricing dated October 3, 2026, listed a 2026 Ford Maverick XLT HEV at $399 per month for 36 months with $1,398 due at signing, and a 2026 Ford Expedition Active at $999 per month for 36 months with $5,299 due at signing. The Expedition example specified 31,500 miles and a $0.25-per-mile overage charge. How much is due at signing?
Ask the dealer to itemize the full amount due when you sign. It can include a down payment, the first payment, taxes, registration, fees and credits or rebates. The advertised monthly payment does not tell you which of these are included, or whether a displayed upfront figure assumes a particular incentive.
Also ask for the total of the scheduled lease payments and any charges excluded from them. The Federal Trade Commission advises shoppers to ask about the amount due at signing, the total amount due under the lease, mileage terms and other fees; large costs can be left out of an advertisement or buried in fine print. What should the written quote include?
Request a quote for the exact vehicle, not just the model name or a payment estimate. Before treating the advertised payment as your price, make sure the written quote states:
- Model year, trim, equipment group and the vehicle’s stock number or VIN, plus the dealer selling price.
- Lease term and number of payments.
- Total cash due at signing, itemized by down payment, first payment, taxes, registration, fees and any credits or rebates.
- Total scheduled payments over the term and charges not included in the advertised payment.
- Total mileage allowance for the term and the per-mile charge for going over it.
- Eligibility, residency and credit-approval assumptions, including any incentive requirements.
- Offer expiration date and required delivery deadline.
- Lease-end obligations, including condition requirements, missing equipment, any disposition fee and purchase-option terms.

How do you compare two Ford lease deals?
Compare offers on the same vehicle and on the same cost and contract terms. A lower monthly payment may require more cash up front, allow fewer miles, apply to different equipment or rely on eligibility conditions. Multiplying the payment by the term does not capture upfront cash or fees left out of the advertised price.

What is the mileage limit?
Use the allowance in the specific offer and lease contract—not an assumption based on another Ford lease. Check both the total miles allowed for the full term and the price per excess mile. For example, the dated Mach-E local offer above specified 31,500 total miles and $0.20 per excess mile; the terms can differ across vehicles and contracts.

Ford Credit says the lease agreement controls the mileage allowance and excess-mileage charge. Exceeding the allowance can lead to a charge at lease end. Ford Credit also says a customer who purchases the vehicle at lease-end will not be charged for additional mileage. Ford Credit’s mileage FAQ.

Separate charges may apply beyond the monthly payment and signing amount. The FTC explains that lease payments generally account for depreciation, a rent charge, taxes and fees, and that excess mileage, wear, damage or missing equipment can create additional responsibility when the vehicle is returned. Ford Credit says a returned vehicle may be assessed for excess wear and use. A disposition fee applies if it is disclosed in the lease agreement; qualifying customers who purchase or lease a new Ford or Lincoln may be eligible for a waiver.
