Ford’s F-100 Eluminator was a one-off electric concept based on a 1978 pickup, not a production truck. Revealed at SEMA on November 2, 2021, it used two Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition traction motors for a combined 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque. Ford also introduced a separate, single-motor Eluminator crate unit; its 281 hp and 317 lb-ft ratings describe one motor, not the concept truck’s total output.
What was the Ford F-100 Eluminator?
The F-100 Eluminator was Ford’s demonstration of how a heritage pickup could be electrified. Ford Performance designed and built it with MLe Racecars, and the truck sat on a custom chassis by the Roadster Shop. It was revealed at SEMA in Las Vegas on November 2, 2021.
Ford said the concept used the battery-electric powertrain from a 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. One traction motor drove the front wheels and another drove the rear, giving the truck all-wheel drive. Its bespoke finish and components—including Avalanche Gray paint with Cerakote Copper accents, a billet-aluminum dashboard, avocado-tanned leather upholstery, and custom three-piece billet-aluminum wheels with Michelin Latitude Sport tires—underscore that this was a custom show build, not simply a crate motor dropped into an otherwise stock pickup.
How much power did the concept make?
Ford rated the twin-motor F-100 Eluminator at a combined 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque. Those are the figures for the complete concept’s two-motor setup, as reported by Ford in 2021.

How the truck differs from the Eluminator crate motor
Ford promoted the Eluminator crate motor as a separate product for builders. The motor, Ford Performance part M-9000-MACH-E, was based on the Mustang Mach-E GT traction motor and oriented for transverse installation in modern or vintage cars, trucks, and SUVs. Ford’s 2021 specification was 281 hp and 317 lb-ft for each motor.
| Configuration | Motor count and drive | Ford-reported output | What it represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| F-100 Eluminator concept | Two motors; front and rear drive, all-wheel drive | 480 hp and 634 lb-ft combined | A one-off demonstration truck |
| Eluminator crate motor, M-9000-MACH-E | One motor; drive arrangement depends on the builder’s project | 281 hp and 317 lb-ft per motor | A separately promoted component, not the complete concept powertrain |
The figures are not interchangeable: the concept’s combined output comes from two motors, while the crate motor’s rating is for one. Ford Performance Parts’ SEMA page also lists the motor’s weight as 205 pounds and maximum speed as 13,800 rpm; those specifications are for the motor, not the whole truck.

What did the Eluminator motor cost, and is it available now?
Ford’s November 2021 launch release listed a $3,900 retail price and said the motor was available through authorized Ford parts warehouse dealers and online through Ford Performance Parts. That is historical launch information, not a current quote. A current Ford Performance Parts search result reviewed for this article did not list the Eluminator, but that absence alone does not establish that the part has been discontinued or cannot be sourced elsewhere. For current stock and pricing, contact Ford Performance Parts or an authorized dealer.
Was the motor a complete EV conversion kit?
No. Ford’s launch materials described the motor and some package items, not a complete turnkey conversion system. Ford Performance Parts’ SEMA page lists a high-voltage motor-to-traction-inverter harness, a low-voltage harness connector, and a vent tube assembly. Ford’s 2021 announcement said it planned to develop a broader range of Eluminator powertrain components with performance manufacturers, including battery systems, controllers, and traction inverters. That was a development plan, not confirmation that those supporting components were included with the motor at launch.

A builder should therefore treat the crate motor as one part of a larger engineering project. The sources cited here do not establish a complete bill of materials, battery capacity, charging specifications, vehicle range, or installation requirements for a conversion. Those details depend on the intended vehicle and the components selected.

Ford framed the F-100 as a preview of electrifying performance in heritage vehicles. Eric Cin, then Ford’s global director of Vehicle Personalization, Accessories and Licensing, said: “Our F-100 Eluminator concept is a preview of how we’re supporting customers as they go all-electric and embrace zero-tailpipe emissions performance, even for our heritage vehicles.” That statement concerns tailpipe emissions; it does not establish the truck’s full lifecycle environmental impact.

Ford’s 2021 release also positioned the crate motor within a larger performance-parts opportunity. Its estimate of approximately $50 billion in annual global vehicle performance parts and accessories industry activity was Ford’s estimate, not an independently verified market study.
