Ford Canada is reported to be recalling more than 31,000 vehicles because windshield wiper arms may detach. The affected vehicles identified in the April 9, 2026 report are 2021–2023 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs. The report says dealers will replace the wiper arms at no cost; check your vehicle by VIN before assuming it is included.
Which Ford and Lincoln vehicles are reported to be affected?
MobileSyrup reported that the campaign covers Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs from model years 2021 through 2023. It described the Canadian total as more than 31,000 vehicles but did not publish an exact count. That figure and model-year range are from secondary reporting, not a verified Transport Canada campaign notice. The report does not establish that every vehicle in those model years is affected.

What is the wiper-arm problem?
The reported concern is insufficient attachment integrity: a windshield wiper arm could detach. If a wiper arm comes loose, the affected wiper may not clear the windshield as intended, potentially reducing visibility in rain or snow. The report does not provide a verified defect rate or describe a specific weather or driving condition in which detachment occurs.
How do you check whether your vehicle is included?
- Find your 17-digit VIN. Check the vehicle documents or the VIN plate on the vehicle.
- Use Ford or Lincoln’s official recall lookup, or contact an authorized dealer. Ask whether your VIN is covered by a windshield wiper-arm recall and whether the repair is still outstanding.
- Confirm the campaign details before booking. Request the campaign number, repair instructions and appointment details from Ford, Lincoln or the dealer. The April 9 report did not give a campaign number or VIN range.
- Check Transport Canada’s recall information. Its February 10, 2025 release says manufacturers are required to publish recall information online and that designated manufacturers must provide a VIN lookup tool. The requirements took effect January 1, 2025, with compliance required by mid-2026. Transport Canada’s release explains the online recall and VIN lookup requirements.
MobileSyrup reported that a Transport Canada notice for this wiper-arm campaign was not posted when its article appeared. The official campaign number, exact affected-vehicle count, VIN eligibility and current repair status are not established by that report, so a VIN check with Ford or Lincoln is the practical way to confirm your vehicle.

Will Ford replace the wiper arms for free?
According to MobileSyrup, owners will be notified by mail and directed to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for wiper-arm replacement at no cost. Contact a dealer to confirm eligibility and arrange the repair. Do not treat an aftermarket part or a separate wiper repair as a substitute for the reported recall remedy.
