The 812 Superfast follows at 800 cv, while the historic 250 GTO ranks first for prestige under a different measure: its competition record and lasting importance to Ferrari history. Power is a factory specification; prestige is an editorial judgment, not an official Ferrari ranking.
Ferrari V12 power ranking
The list ranks these representative Ferrari 12-cylinder models by the maximum engine output published for each. Figures retain Ferrari’s stated units: hp or cv. Because the sources span different eras and use different unit conventions, the figures are not a harmonized cross-era test comparison. This is a selected sample, not a complete ranking of every Ferrari V12 road and competition car.

Which Ferrari V12 has the most prestige?
If prestige means a combination of competition success, historical influence, exclusivity, and significance to Ferrari’s identity, the 250 GTO is the strongest choice in this group. That is an editorial conclusion, not a Ferrari-issued score or an objective universal ranking. The other cars express different kinds of significance. The 365 GTB4 represents the classic front-engined grand tourer; the 550 Maranello brought that layout back into Ferrari’s modern road-car range. The F12berlinetta, 812 Superfast, and 12Cilindri trace a modern progression of high-output naturally aspirated V12s. Their engineering figures make them compelling power-ranking choices, but horsepower alone does not settle which car carries the greatest historical prestige.

How to read the ranking
Engine output is not a cross-era performance test
Ferrari’s cited figures use both hp and cv, and the list preserves each source’s unit rather than converting them into a single convention. The 830 cv specification for the 12Cilindri is therefore presented as published, not as a rigorously harmonized measurement against the older hp figures. The comparison concerns factory-published headline engine output, not lap times, acceleration, or hybrid system output.
Special-series status is a separate distinction
The 812 Competizione belongs in the story of Ferrari’s V12s, but it is a special series rather than a standard range model in the same sense as the 812 Superfast or 12Cilindri. Ferrari N.V.’s annual report for 2024, published in 2025, reports that 812 Competizione production was phased out during 2024 and provides range context.
