Ferrari’s first fully electric production car is called the Luce, and its interior is being developed with Jony Ive’s LoveFrom design collective. The four-door, five-seat grand tourer replaces the usual two-seat Ferrari cabin with a lounge-like space that combines machined physical controls, digital displays and a continuous dashboard.
What is Ferrari’s first electric car called?
The car is the Ferrari Luce. Ferrari presented its interior and interface in San Francisco on 9 February 2026, then revealed the complete vehicle in Rome on 25 May 2026.

Luce is a major change in format for Ferrari. Rather than a two-seat mid-engine sports car, it is a four-door, five-seat grand turismo intended to provide long-distance comfort alongside Ferrari-level performance.

Yes, but the arrangement is a collaboration rather than a claim that Ive personally engineered the vehicle. LoveFrom’s project archive credits Jony Ive, Marc Newson and the collective for work covering the exterior, interior and interaction design. LoveFrom says its multi-year Ferrari partnership began with Exor’s announcement in September 2021.

What does the Ferrari Luce interior look like?
A continuous dashboard with object-like controls
The dashboard runs continuously across the cabin rather than presenting a single tablet-like slab. Switches, toggles and rotary controls are treated as individual objects, with their own visual and tactile character.

Physical controls beside multifunction screens
The cabin deliberately places mechanical buttons and carefully machined metal next to digital displays. This is a different strategy from screen-first interiors in which most functions are buried in menus. The available description does not establish every control’s function or the final production screen sizes, so those details should not be inferred from the concept presentation.
A recycled-aluminium steering wheel
The three-spoke steering wheel uses recycled aluminium. Its material and exposed mechanical detailing reinforce the interior’s emphasis on touchable, machined elements rather than a purely software-defined cockpit.

Lounge-like five-seat packaging
The Luce’s interior concept is described as lounge-like and accommodates five occupants across four doors. That gives it a fundamentally different brief from Ferrari’s traditional two-seat supercars: rear-seat access and grand-touring comfort are part of the design problem, not afterthoughts.

IAA MOBILITY reported first deliveries planned for 2027. That is a forward-looking schedule, not a guaranteed customer handover date; Ferrari could adjust timing as development and market certification progress.
How much will Ferrari’s first EV cost?
The expected starting price is about €550,000, or more than US$600,000, according to IAA MOBILITY’s 2026 reporting. It is an indicative starting figure and may change before production cars reach customers. Regional taxes, options and Ferrari’s allocation process could also make an individual car substantially more expensive.
Why the Luce matters for Ferrari’s design direction
The Luce is not simply a battery-powered replacement for an existing Ferrari model. Its four-door, five-seat layout broadens the brand’s idea of a performance car, while the LoveFrom collaboration gives the cabin a distinct design philosophy: digital capability presented through physical, legible objects.
That balance is the central point of the interior. Ferrari is adopting an electric platform and software-rich interface without abandoning switches, rotary controls and metalwork that occupants can see and feel. Whether the final production car preserves every element shown in 2026 presentations will become clear closer to deliveries.
