What does Ferrari F167 mean?
F167 was reported as the project’s development code, not the production car’s official name. Ferrari’s official sources identify the production model as the 12Cilindri; contemporary reports from Auto.it and Quattroruote used F167 for the development program.
That distinction matters when reading early spy-shot coverage: reports described prototypes and expectations before Ferrari had presented the finished car, while the later official material establishes what actually entered the 12Cilindri range.
What did the F167 spy shots reveal?
Heavy camouflage obscured the design
Auto.it reported on April 23, 2024 that heavily camouflaged test cars had been seen. The outlet said the disguise concealed substantial design detail and anticipated a reveal around the Miami Grand Prix. That timing was a contemporary expectation, not confirmation of the launch date.

Reports described cars at different prototype stages
Quattroruote reported on May 3, 2024 that F167 test cars had first appeared wearing Roma bodywork and later with the definitive body. It described familiar long-hood, short-tail proportions, while cautioning that camouflage made specific styling details difficult to discern. These are the outlet’s observations; they do not establish that every image captioned F167 depicts the same prototype stage.
For that reason, the early images are best read as evidence of development activity and broad proportions—not as a reliable preview of every production detail.

When was the Ferrari 12Cilindri revealed?
Ferrari’s corporate history says the 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider were unveiled in Miami Beach, and the company’s annual report records both models as launched in May 2024. Ferrari dated its official Spider release May 3, 2024. The reveal confirmed the production name and the two body styles that early reports had discussed as possibilities.
What Ferrari confirmed about the 12Cilindri
Ferrari describes the Spider as a two-seat car with a naturally aspirated, mid-front-mounted V12. Its official 12Cilindri model specifications list the following figures:
