The Fahrradi Farfalla FFX is a human-powered art vehicle that wears a supercar-inspired shell: its two riders pedal it along through a bicycle-style drivetrain. “World’s slowest supercar” is a joke, not a verified speed record—no standardized top-speed or acceleration test is documented in the sources reviewed.
What is the Fahrradi Farfalla FFX?
Created by Austrian artist Hannes Langeder, the FFX is a bespoke bicycle or quadricycle dressed to resemble an exotic sports car. It is not a Ferrari production car, and reports comparing its appearance with Ferrari design do not establish any Ferrari manufacture, licensing or endorsement. GTspirit described the project as an imagined future top model rather than a copy of one existing car: GTspirit’s 2012 report reproduces a creator statement describing an evolving “mimicry encasement” for muscle-driven propulsion.
Contemporary coverage points to Ferrari Enzo and FXX styling cues, while emphasizing that the vehicle’s underlying purpose is artistic mimicry. Top Gear reported that Langeder spent a year building it; that is a historical report, not a verified production record. The name combines German Fahrrad (bicycle) with an added “i,” while Italian farfalla means butterfly and alludes to the doors, according to GTspirit and ZigWheels.
What lies beneath its bright red skin?
People supply the power. The 2012 reports describe two seats with pedals for both riders, with chain drive to the rear wheels and an 11-speed hub gearbox. ZigWheels also reported a tubular aluminium frame. These are period descriptions, not specifications confirmed by a current manufacturer data sheet. GTspirit attributed a claimed output of one-third horsepower to the creators; it should not be read as an independent measurement.

The shell also carried 200 ultra-bright LEDs, according to road.cc’s 2012 report. Together, the reported bicycle components and car-like body explain the FFX better than the supercar label alone: it is a pedal vehicle built to perform the visual role of an exotic car.
How do the butterfly doors move?
The doors are more than a styling flourish. Reports say a gear mounted at the rear axle drives their butterfly-like movement as the vehicle is pedaled. The movement was also described as helping ventilate the cabin. Jokes about anti-gravity or lift refer to the theatrical effect; the sources describe a door mechanism, not flight or demonstrated aerodynamic lift. See GTspirit’s account and Auto Bild España.

Is it really the world’s slowest supercar?
That phrase is a humorous hook, not an established record. The reviewed coverage does not provide a standardized FFX top speed, acceleration time or record listing, so assigning it a precise speed—or calling it a measured world champion in slowness—would go beyond the evidence.
It can be compared with a conventional Ferrari only in broad terms: the FFX is reported to use human power and a bicycle-style drivetrain, while a production Ferrari uses an engine and road-car systems. There is no comparable FFX performance test in the sources, and the vehicles serve different purposes: one is an art and design project, the other a production car.

Where was the FFX displayed?
Contemporary reports said the FFX was shown at the Lentos Museum in Linz through 4 July 2012. That date is historical; it does not establish that the vehicle remains at the museum or is currently on public display. Its present location and availability are not established by those reports. The exhibition date was reported by GTspirit, road.cc and the Environmental Transport Association.

Auto Bild España and road.cc reported that the FFX could be used on Austrian public roads, with road.cc relaying a creator statement.
