A September 2023 report described a side-enclosed cabin whose lowered floor creates legroom and transfers some of the load to the ground. The figures and features below are those reported at the time, not confirmed current specifications.
How the lowerable floor works
In New Atlas’s September 19, 2023 report, the Expeditions is described as a bicycle-camping trailer built around an adjustable padded seating area that can be rearranged for sleeping. When more room is needed to sit, the floor lowers to ground level while the sides remain enclosed. The design changes the cabin’s usable interior space without relying on a roof that rises.
The report says this arrangement transfers much of the trailer’s and occupant’s weight to the ground, rather than leaving the axle to carry all the strain. The Expeditions is presented as a bespoke camper, not a conventional open cargo trailer. New Atlas reported that Swiss designer Gerhard Weber built it to order, with materials and amenities varying by client specification.

How to interpret it as an e-bike trailer
The Expeditions is best understood as a custom bicycle camper with an enclosed sleeping space and a floor mechanism for seated legroom. That makes it a different category from a conventional bicycle cargo trailer, which carries gear rather than providing an enclosed cabin for sitting and sleeping.
The 2023 report does not provide a controlled comparison with other trailers, nor does it establish towing compatibility, loaded weight for a particular build, ground clearance, or performance behind a specific e-bike. Those details matter when assessing whether a particular setup is suitable; the report alone does not support claims that this design is safer, more stable, or more efficient than alternatives.

Is the Expeditions available to order now?
The 2023 report describes Weber building the Expeditions to order, but it does not establish current availability, an active public order page, present pricing, stock, or current delivery times.
