The Exoquad V2 is a single-seat electric off-road vehicle designed to take wheelchair users beyond smooth pavement. It is not a conventional power wheelchair: its drive configuration, speed, controls, seating and transfer needs make it a specialist mobility vehicle that should be assessed in person against the user and intended routes. The specifications below were reported by New Atlas on September 19, 2025, and are not independent test results.

What the Exoquad V2 is

The V2 uses a tubular aluminum chassis and is offered in two- or four-wheel drive. It is designed around an individual seated driver, with a larger cockpit than the earlier model. That extra space is reported to provide more legroom and room for an optional second battery.

New Atlas describes several V2 revisions: an app-integrated LED display, full lighting with turn indicators, CNC-machined controls described as quadriplegic-friendly, coil-spring suspension in place of air springs, a redesigned 48-volt lithium battery, revised electronics and higher-volume knobby tires. These are reported design features, not evidence that the vehicle will suit every user’s movement, posture or access needs. New Atlas’s September 19, 2025 report is the source for the V2 details.

2WD and 4WD: reported specifications

The two configurations differ in motors and reported top speed. New Atlas reported the following figures for the V2; they should be treated as specifications reported by that publication, not independently verified performance.

Configuration Reported drive setup Reported top speed

4WD Rear motors plus 600 W front hub motors rated at 60 Nm each 6 km/h (4 mph)

New Atlas also reports that a 4WD driver can temporarily switch to 2WD to save battery. The article gives a range of “up to about 50 km (31 miles)” and a total weight of 99 kg (218 lb). These figures do not establish the distance a particular driver can travel or whether the vehicle can be transported in a particular car. Terrain, user weight and driving conditions affect range, according to specialist retailer John Preston; confirm expected performance for the intended route and load.

Will it fit the person and the route?

Off-road capability alone does not determine whether a vehicle is practical. Before arranging a demonstration, describe the surfaces, gradients and distance of the routes you want to use, and discuss the person’s ability to transfer, sit securely and operate the controls. Ask the supplier to assess fit and adaptations rather than assuming that a feature described as accessible will work for a particular user.

  • Terrain and drive: Ask which configuration is appropriate for the surfaces and gradients on your routes, and what conditions may reduce traction or range.
  • Controls: Check that the control layout and operation can be used reliably by the intended driver. The description “quadriplegic-friendly” is New Atlas’s characterization of the controls, not an individualized assessment.
  • Seat and transfers: Assess seating position, support, access and transfers in person. Bring any relevant support or positioning requirements into the fit discussion.
  • Capacity and comfort: Confirm the manufacturer’s limits and assess comfort during a realistic demonstration; the cited V2 report does not establish a user weight limit.
  • Transport and storage: At a reported 99 kg (218 lb), the vehicle’s weight makes it important to check how it can be moved, stored and transported in your circumstances.
  • Range and support: Ask how battery performance changes with terrain, user weight and driving conditions, and who can provide servicing and local support.
  • Where it can be used: Confirm local rules and the vehicle’s legal status for the places you plan to drive. Rules and approvals are not universal.

John Preston’s guide to off-road electric wheelchairs recommends comparing terrain and use, weight capacity, suspension, battery range, seat comfort and positioning, transport and storage, and manufacturer specifications. Use those criteria to compare this vehicle with an all-terrain powerchair or other mobility option, rather than comparing speed or range alone.

Another adaptive vehicle to compare: SWINCAR e-Spider Adaptive

SWINCAR’s e-Spider Adaptive is a separate electric vehicle, not an Exoquad variant. Its manufacturer describes grouped steering-wheel controls and accessibility accessories. The manufacturer’s site displayed a starting price of €14,500, 4 kW, four hours of range and a speed of 30 km/h when accessed October 8, 2026; these live display values can change and do not establish local price or availability. The site also identifies distributors and demonstrations, so check directly whether either is available in your region and suitable for the intended use. SWINCAR’s product site should be consulted for current details.

These are manufacturer descriptions, not clinical or user-testing evidence. The same brochure publishes figures claiming that 70% of natural paths open to the public are inaccessible with a conventional wheelchair, 5% of hiking trails have adapted facilities, and 60% of natural parks and protected areas lack accessible infrastructure. The brochure excerpt does not identify the underlying study or its date, so those figures should be understood as claims published by SWINCAR rather than independently established statistics. Price, availability and what to verify

New Atlas’s 2025 report lists reference prices for the original Exoquad model: €12,999 for 2WD and €15,999 for 4WD. Those are not confirmed V2 prices. The report does not establish the V2’s current price, delivery markets or support arrangements, so ask the manufacturer or an authorized local seller for a current written quote and availability.
