It is the 1,025-hp, rear-drive 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, which Dodge rated at 1.66 seconds from 0 to 60 mph on E85 and a prepared drag strip.
That number needs context. Some figures below are manufacturer claims, while others come from independent magazine testing. Launch surface, tire temperature, fuel, rollout, and even whether the vehicle is tested on a drag strip or ordinary pavement can change the result by several tenths. The ranking therefore lists the best published number for each factory-built Hellcat-powered model, with the test method identified.

The list covers factory-built vehicles sold with Chrysler’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 or a direct higher-output development of it. It excludes engine swaps, tuner cars, concepts, and race-only vehicles. The SUVs and Ram pickup remain in the ranking because they were factory Hellcat-powered vehicles, even though they are not conventional passenger cars.
1. 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 — 1.66 seconds
The Demon 170 is in a different performance category from the ordinary Hellcat models. Dodge claimed a 1.66-second 0–60 mph time when the car was fueled with E85 and launched on a fully prepared drag surface. Its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI produces up to 1,025 horsepower in that configuration.

The figure includes rollout, and the car’s launch hardware and drag-oriented tires are not representative of a normal street car. On gasoline, the engine makes less power. Still, the result establishes the Demon 170 as the quickest Hellcat-family vehicle by a substantial margin.

2. 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon — 2.3 seconds
The original Demon was Dodge’s first purpose-built, limited-production drag Challenger. Its published 2.3-second 0–60 time came with drag-focused equipment, launch-control functions, and special attention to fuel and surface conditions. Output was 808 horsepower on pump fuel and as much as 840 horsepower with the appropriate high-octane calibration.
Independent estimates have generally landed between 2.3 and 2.6 seconds. That spread is not surprising for a rear-drive car with enough torque to turn its rear tires into the limiting component at launch.

3. Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock — 3.25 seconds
The 2021–2023 Challenger SRT Super Stock used an 807-hp version of the supercharged HEMI and came configured to leave the starting line harder than a standard Hellcat. Dodge rated it at 3.25 seconds to 60 mph.
Its standard Widebody bodywork made room for wider tires, while 18-by-11-inch wheels and Nitto NT05R drag radials gave the Super Stock a major traction advantage. It remained rear-wheel drive, so preparation still mattered, but this was one of the most launch-capable regular-production Challengers.

4. Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody — 3.5 seconds
Car and Driver recorded 3.5 seconds to 60 mph in a 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. The four-door sedan used the 797-hp high-output Hellcat engine, with later Jailbreak versions reaching as much as 807 hp.
The tested car also ran the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 126 mph. Its four-door practicality does not prevent it from being one of the fastest factory sedans ever sold, although the rear-drive layout still makes the first few feet dependent on tire grip.

5. Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk — 3.5 seconds
The 707-hp Grand Cherokee Trackhawk matched the Redeye Charger’s best published 0–60 time in Car and Driver testing: 3.5 seconds. Its advantage was not greater engine output but its all-wheel-drive system, which could use more of the V8’s torque during the launch.
The Trackhawk was sold from 2018 through 2021 and also managed a 12.0-second quarter-mile at 115 mph in the cited test. It remains one of the clearest demonstrations that traction can matter more than horsepower in a 0–60 contest.

6. Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat — 3.5 seconds claimed, 3.6 seconds tested
Dodge rates the three-row Durango SRT Hellcat at 3.5 seconds to 60 mph, while Car and Driver tested a 2021 example at 3.6 seconds. Its supercharged V8 is commonly listed at 710 or 717 hp depending on model year and rating convention, and all-wheel drive is standard.

The Durango’s acceleration is particularly impressive given its size, three rows of seats, and towing capability of up to 8,700 pounds. The small gap between the claim and the magazine result is within the normal variation caused by testing conditions.

7. 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT — 3.5 seconds
Ram rates the newly announced 2027 1500 TRX SRT at 3.5 seconds to 60 mph. It uses a 777-hp supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI, full-time four-wheel drive, and standard launch control.
This is a manufacturer estimate rather than an independent test. It should not be confused with the earlier 702-hp TRX, which Car and Driver measured at 3.7 seconds. The TRX SRT’s 118-mph top speed and 680 lb-ft of torque make it a very different vehicle from the original truck, despite the shared nameplate.

8. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody — 3.6 seconds
Car and Driver recorded 3.6 seconds in a Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody test. Earlier testing produced 3.7 seconds, which illustrates how much launch conditions can matter even when the engine and vehicle specification appear unchanged.

9. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat automatic — 3.6–3.7 seconds
Independent tests of the automatic Challenger Hellcat have produced 3.6 to 3.7 seconds to 60 mph. Early cars made 707 hp, while later versions were rated at 717 hp. The eight-speed automatic delivers repeatable shifts, but the car’s rear-drive configuration limits how aggressively the engine can be used on ordinary pavement.
The frequently quoted 3.4-second Hellcat time generally reflects a manufacturer claim, rollout-assisted timing, or unusually favorable conditions. It is not a universal independent-test result for every automatic Hellcat.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.10. Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody — 3.8 seconds tested
Car and Driver measured a 2020 Charger Hellcat Widebody at 3.8 seconds to 60 mph. Dodge advertised a 3.6-second time for the same general configuration, so both numbers appear in published specifications.
The independent result is the more useful reference when comparing the Charger with magazine-tested vehicles. The car used 305/35ZR20 tires and a 707-hp version of the supercharged V8, but its extra doors and sedan body do not change the fundamental issue: rear-tire traction is the key variable at launch.

The six-speed manual is slower not because the engine is less powerful, but because the driver must coordinate clutch release, wheelspin, and gear changes. An automatic can repeat the launch and shifts with much greater consistency. For involvement, however, the manual remains the more unusual choice in this group.

Why these 0–60 times are difficult to compare
- Rollout changes the number. Some acceleration tests begin timing after the vehicle has moved the first foot. That can make the published time look quicker than a timer starting at absolute zero.
- Surface preparation matters. The Demon figures depend on a prepared drag strip. A normal road offers considerably less grip.
- Fuel can change output. The Demon 170 reaches its 1,025-hp rating on E85. Gasoline produces a lower-output calibration.
- Rear-drive cars need tire temperature and traction. The Challenger and Charger models can produce very different results from one launch to the next.
- All-wheel drive improves the first 60 feet. The Trackhawk, Durango, and TRX can put down torque more effectively, even when they weigh more than the muscle cars.
For that reason, the ranking is best read as a guide to each model’s quickest published capability, not as a laboratory comparison made under one identical test procedure.

Vehicles that do not belong in this ranking

FAQ
What is the fastest Hellcat-powered vehicle from 0 to 60 mph?
The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the quickest, with Dodge claiming 1.66 seconds to 60 mph on E85, a prepared drag surface, specialized launch equipment, and rollout timing.
Is the Hellcat Demon faster than the Demon 170?
No. The 2018 Challenger SRT Demon was rated at 2.3 seconds, while the 2023 Demon 170 was rated at 1.66 seconds. The Demon 170 also makes up to 1,025 hp on E85, compared with up to 840 hp for the original Demon.
Which Hellcat-powered SUV is quickest?
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat are effectively tied by their best published numbers. Each has a 3.5-second manufacturer or independent-test figure, with the Durango tested at 3.6 seconds by Car and Driver.
Why can a higher-horsepower Hellcat be slower to 60 mph?
Power is only useful if the tires can transmit it. Rear-drive Hellcats can spin their tires during launch, while all-wheel-drive vehicles may accelerate harder despite weighing more. Tires, surface, temperature, fuel, launch technique, and rollout also affect the result.
The Bottom Line
The Demon 170 is the clear 0–60 winner at 1.66 seconds, but that figure belongs to a highly controlled E85 drag-strip launch. For repeatable real-world acceleration, the all-wheel-drive Trackhawk and Durango Hellcat are especially convincing, while the Challenger and Charger Hellcats show how strongly rear-tire grip influences a 700-plus-hp car. Treat every number as a best-case reference unless the test method matches.
