Audi’s A5 e-hybrid is a plug-in hybrid, not a fully electric A5. Audi’s March 25, 2025 German-market launch announcement quotes up to 110 km (68 miles) of electric range; Audi’s 2025 report identifies the A5 figure as WLTP. It is an official test-cycle estimate, not a promise of how far every driver will travel on battery power.
What the 68-mile figure means
Audi announced plug-in hybrid versions of the A5 Sedan and Avant on March 25, 2025. The launch release gives an electric range of up to 110 km (68 miles) for the German-market model range. Audi’s Audi Report 2025 identifies the A5 hybrid range as WLTP, the test-cycle basis for the figure.
WLTP results are standardized figures, not a guarantee of real-world electric distance. The official materials cited here do not establish an independent road-test range for particular temperatures, routes, speeds, or driving styles. Treat 68 miles as a headline maximum, and check the exact vehicle’s local-market specification before comparing it with another car.
Two outputs, in Sedan and Avant body styles
Audi’s launch announcement lists two system-output levels, with both available in Sedan and Avant body styles. The output figures describe the combined plug-in hybrid system, not electric range.

| Body style | System output offered at launch |
|---|---|
| Sedan | 220 kW or 270 kW |
| Avant | 220 kW or 270 kW |
These are the options in Audi’s German-market launch announcement; availability and exact specifications can differ by country and configuration. Audi also says the new high-voltage battery generation has around 45% higher capacity than the preceding generation. That is a relative comparison, not a stated battery size in kWh or a claim that range increased by 45%.
Range figures vary by market and configuration
Audi UK’s current A5 Saloon e-hybrid page displays a 68–74-mile range field for the Saloon, with the range depending on version and configuration. The page also says “up to 67 miles” in headline text, so its wording is not consistent across the page. Its stated range field relates to the A5 Saloon e-hybrid quattro 299 PS; it should not be applied to every body style or market.

The crazy horse leather has a messy and disorganized surface and a strong leather feel.Because the material is genuine leather, it cannot be completely perfect. It is normal that the surface of the key case is slightly scratched or bitten by mosquitoes. If you have perfectionist requirements for cowhide leather, please purchase carefully after considering.
- Some tips when using: Crazy horse skins are prone to scratches, so try to avoid scratching with hard objects, nails, etc. Avoid oil stains.Try to avoid getting wet as much as possible. Audi Germany describes up to 110 km WLTP for the A5 Sedan e-hybrid. The German launch release says its figures and prices refer to the model range offered in Germany and may change. Use the destination country’s current configurator and the exact body style and trim when checking a purchase candidate.
Charging: up to 11 kW AC
Audi’s 2025 report lists maximum AC charging of up to 11 kW and a 0–100% charging time of 2.5 hours. Audi notes that the time can vary with ambient temperature, country-specific connectors, preconditioning, domestic connector limits, and other factors. The figure is therefore a stated charging capability and time, not a guarantee for every home or public charging setup.

Before buying a separate cable, check the car’s supplied equipment and the connector required by the charge point. Audi’s Swiss announcement says a Mode 3 Type 2 cable is standard in Switzerland; that does not establish standard equipment in every country. Audi Germany also describes access to public charging through Audi charging, but coverage and service terms can vary.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to verify before choosing one
- Market: Confirm the specification for the country where the vehicle will be sold or registered.
- Body and version: Check whether the range figure applies to the Sedan or Avant and to the precise configuration under consideration.
- Charging arrangement: Confirm the available AC charging rate, home supply limits, connector, and included cable for that vehicle.
- Range expectation: Use WLTP for standardized comparisons, not as a guaranteed everyday distance on electric power.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner described the new plug-in hybrids as combining performance and efficiency, with system output up to 270 kW. That is Audi’s characterization; the official figures above do not establish a comparative real-world range result against rival plug-in hybrids.
