The Equus Bass 770 is a low-volume American coupe conceived to pair the look of 1960s and 1970s muscle cars with modern luxury and performance hardware. Equus Automotive says it released the car in 2014. Its brochure lists a supercharged 640-hp V8 and a 200-mph top speed, but those are manufacturer specifications—not independently measured results. A 2013 report put its launch-era price at $300,000 before taxes; that is not a current price or valuation, and present-day order availability has not been established.

What is the Equus Bass 770?

Equus Automotive describes the Bass 770 as a “Luxury Muscle Car,” a modern car shaped by the design, power and detailing of 1960s and 1970s American muscle. The company says it released the model in 2014. The classification and design intent are Equus’s own positioning, rather than an independent category assessment. Equus Automotive

The project was intended to combine vintage proportions with contemporary performance and comfort. Equus says development took six years and included full-scale prototypes used to refine the car’s proportions. It is not the Hyundai Equus luxury sedan; the two are unrelated vehicles.

How much does the Equus Bass 770 cost?

Auto&Técnica reported on September 27, 2013 that the Bass 770 would cost US$300,000 before taxes. That is a launch-era reported price, not a current asking price, present-day market value or confirmed price for a newly ordered car. Auto&Técnica

Construction and interior

Equus says the Bass 770 has a hand-made chassis frame built around aluminum extrusions and superformed floor panels. The company describes a high-resistance steel, racing-based roll cage integrated into an aluminum-carbon compound body, along with a tailor-made leather interior. These are manufacturer descriptions; the available material does not provide independent construction verification. Equus Automotive, “Born in the USA”

The cabin concept, in Equus’s words, joins modern ergonomic analysis with the design spirit of muscle-car cockpits from the 1960s and 1970s. That explains the intended contrast: period-inspired presentation paired with contemporary equipment and materials.

What does the 150,000-mile road-test claim establish?

Equus says the Bass 770’s reliability was “tested successfully during 150,000 miles road tests.” The company does not state a year for that figure on the cited project page. No independent test records or corroborating account are established here, so the mileage should be understood as an Equus claim—not as a published independent reliability rating or a guarantee for an individual car.
