The longest-range 2026 electric SUV in the cited figures is the full-size Cadillac Escalade IQ, with up to 465 EPA-estimated miles. For buyers focused on more mainstream-sized crossovers, the Tesla Model Y reaches 357 EPA-estimated miles in its Premium Rear-Wheel Drive configuration, while the Toyota bZ FWD is rated at 314 miles. Those are trim-specific figures, not promises for every version or a guarantee of real-world distance.
Which electric crossover has the longest range?
Among the cited 2026 models, the Cadillac Escalade IQ has the highest stated figure: Cadillac says it has a maximum EPA-estimated range of 465 miles. It is a full-size, seven-seat luxury SUV, so its range is not a like-for-like benchmark for a compact or mainstream crossover. Cadillac lists its Luxury trim starting at $130,300 on its 2026 model page. Cadillac’s 2026 Escalade IQ announcement
For a size-conscious comparison, Car and Driver lists the Lucid Gravity at 337–450 miles, the Tesla Model Y at 294–357 miles, and the Hyundai IONIQ 9 at 311–335 miles. These ranges are not directly interchangeable: Car and Driver says its list uses EPA estimates and manufacturer estimates where applicable, and the maximum for a model can belong to only one configuration. Why trim and drivetrain change the comparison
A model name alone does not tell you which range figure applies. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions can have different ratings, as can configurations with different batteries or wheels. Cadillac’s 2026 figures illustrate the difference: the LYRIQ is listed at 326 miles for RWD and 319 for AWD, while the OPTIQ is listed at 317 for RWD and 303 for AWD. Cadillac
When comparing listings, match the precise drivetrain and trim rather than taking the highest number shown for the model. The 357-mile Model Y figure, for example, applies to the Premium RWD according to AP’s report of Edmunds’ comparison—not every Model Y. Associated Press

Keep EPA estimates, manufacturer claims, and road tests separate
An EPA-estimated range is a standardized rating, a manufacturer’s stated estimate is a company claim, and an independent road test is an observed result under the test’s conditions. They answer related but different questions. Do not treat a test result as a revised EPA rating or assume that one road test predicts every driver’s outcome.
In AP’s account of an Edmunds comparison, the Toyota bZ FWD had a 314-mile EPA estimate, while Edmunds drove a bZ 331 miles in its independent test. The same report says Edmunds had not tested the specific 357-mile Model Y Premium RWD version. That means the two vehicles’ reported test and rating figures do not form a matched, same-method comparison. Associated Press

Consider charging stops as well as rated range
For road trips, range is only part of the calculation. Fast-charging capability, access to chargers on your route, and vehicle compatibility affect how useful that range is between stops. In the public-fast-charging comparison reported by AP, Edmunds found that the bZ and Model Y could potentially add about 100 miles in 15 minutes; the report also noted Supercharger access as a Model Y convenience. These are reported comparison findings, not a guarantee for every charging session or station. Associated Press
Subaru says the 2026 Uncharted can charge from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes and is compatible with NACS, enabling access to more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers. The charging-time and network figures are Subaru’s claims for that vehicle; availability and charging speed depend on the station and conditions. Subaru
Quick Recap
How to choose a long-range electric crossover
- Set a size and passenger limit. Decide whether you need a compact crossover, a larger family vehicle, or a full-size SUV. A top-of-list figure from the Escalade IQ does not make it the closest substitute for a smaller vehicle.
- Compare the exact trim. Confirm drivetrain and configuration, then use the rating for the version you can actually order or buy.
- Check the range source. Keep EPA estimates distinct from manufacturer estimates and independent test results; note who produced each figure.
- Plan charging around your routes. Check fast-charging capability and network access where you drive, rather than relying on range alone.
- Verify local availability and price. Inventory, order status, trim mix, and transaction prices vary by location and can change; confirm current details with the manufacturer or a nearby dealer.
