eInfochips showcased a manufacturer-oriented DC fast charger reference design at Embedded World 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany. The vendor describes a single-gun, 30 kW design built from power electronics, a vehicle-and-backend communications controller, and remote-management software—not a named retail charger ready for consumers to install.
What is eInfochips’ DC fast charger reference design?
It is a set of reusable hardware and software building blocks intended to help manufacturers develop their own DC fast-charging products. eInfochips and Arrow describe the reference design as a way to reduce design risk and accelerate development; it does not by itself establish that a finished charger is commercially available or deployed in a charging network. Embedded.com’s event recap reports that eInfochips demonstrated it live at Embedded World, held April 9–11, 2024, in Nuremberg. The recap says the design was developed at eInfochips’ Swindon facility in the UK.
The vendor positions the design for small and mid-sized commercial and public charging settings, including shopping malls, parking, retail outlets, and offices. That is a target use case, not evidence of suitability for every site, utility connection, or jurisdiction.
What does the reference design include?
The design is described as three connected blocks: the equipment that converts and delivers power, a controller that coordinates the user interface and communications, and software for remote operations.

Power module
The power module handles conversion, energy metering, output delivery, and electrical protections. eInfochips says it uses an intelligent 32-bit microcontroller. The published material describes the module as part of the system architecture; it does not provide independent validation of its performance.
Supply Equipment Communication Controller (SECC)
The SECC provides the human-machine interface and communications among charger electronics, the vehicle, and the cloud or backend. eInfochips says it bridges the power electronics and the vehicle’s battery-management system. Its described features include a multicore ARM Cortex processor, a 10-inch LCD rated by the vendor at 1,000 nits, RFID/NFC authentication, isolated CAN communication with the power unit, status LEDs, and charging-contact temperature sensing.

Remote management
The vendor describes a web-based charger-management platform and a driver mobile app for remote operations. Its materials use both the names Conxero EV and EVWER; the available information does not establish which name, if either, is the current product brand or its present availability.

In particular, the efficiency, power-factor, and THD entries should be read as brochure specifications. The available sources do not include an independent test report, field-reliability data, or third-party performance verification.
Which charging and communications standards does it name?
eInfochips lists CCS1 and CCS2 as supported charging interfaces. It names ISO 15118 and IEC 61851-23/-24 for vehicle-related communications and charging, and OCPP 1.6J for network communication. These are the standards and interfaces identified in the design materials; listing them does not establish certification, interoperability testing, or approval for deployment in a particular market.

What protections and certification status are specified?
The brochure lists protections for input under-voltage and over-voltage, over-temperature, ground fault, RCD or CCID, over-current, short circuit, surge, emergency shutdown, output over-temperature, DC high voltage, galvanic isolation, and DC isolation monitoring.
The brochure describes CE, FCC, UL, IEC, RoHS, and REACH compliance as targeted. It does not establish that certification or compliance has been achieved. The materials available here do not resolve approval status by geography, so prospective developers would need to establish applicable requirements and verify the status for their intended market.

What the 2024 demonstration does—and does not—show
The live demonstration establishes that eInfochips presented the reference design at Embedded World 2024. It does not demonstrate independent validation, long-term operation in the field, or commercial deployment. Arrow Electronics Vice President of Global Engineering and Design Services Murdoch Fitzgerald said in an eInfochips-published statement that customers could use the design to de-risk development and accelerate time to market. That is the vendor’s description of its intended value, not independent evidence of customer outcomes.
For manufacturers evaluating this platform, the useful next questions concern the intended output and site requirements, connector and protocol needs, certification evidence in the target region, and the scope of hardware, software, and engineering support available from the vendor.
