No—not in horsepower or torque. The 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack’s high-output SIXPACK engine is rated at 550 hp and 531 lb-ft, while the original 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat made 707 hp and 650 lb-ft. Dodge claims the new Scat Pack can reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, but that acceleration figure is not an independent test. The SIXPACK brings newer hardware and standard all-wheel drive; it does not surpass the Hellcat’s peak output.
How the SIXPACK and original Hellcat compare
| Charger version | Engine | Horsepower | Torque | Acceleration or top speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Charger R/T SIXPACK S.O. | 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six | 420 hp | 468 lb-ft | Not stated on Dodge’s current product page |
| 2026 Charger Scat Pack SIXPACK H.O. | 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six | 550 hp | 531 lb-ft | Dodge claims 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds and a 12.2-second quarter mile |
| 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat | Supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 | 707 hp | 650 lb-ft | Dodge’s historical timeline lists a 204-mph top speed |
| 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye | Supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 | 797 hp | Not stated in the cited historical figure | Not stated |
| 2022 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak | Supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 | 807 hp | Not stated in the cited historical figure | Not stated |
The SIXPACK Scat Pack has 157 fewer horsepower and 119 fewer lb-ft of torque than the original Hellcat. The gap is larger against the later Redeye and Jailbreak versions. The comparison is between manufacturer-published ratings, not independent measurements under identical conditions.
What “outmuscles” means—and what it does not
Dodge’s claim that the SIXPACK has “better horsepower and torque numbers” than outgoing HEMI engines refers to the 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter HEMI options, not the supercharged Hellcat. Against the original Hellcat, the new Scat Pack is lower in both peak horsepower and torque. Calling it more powerful than a Hellcat is therefore inaccurate.
There is a narrower case for saying the new car may feel competitive in some driving situations: Dodge claims a quick 0–60 time, and the new Charger combines that powertrain with all-wheel drive and a selectable rear-wheel-drive mode on SIXPACK models. Those features affect how power reaches the road, but they do not change the engines’ rated output or establish that the SIXPACK is quicker in a like-for-like independent test.

How quick is the 2026 Charger Scat Pack?
Dodge claims the SIXPACK H.O. Scat Pack reaches 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. Treat those as manufacturer claims, not verified drag-strip results: the official figures available here do not include independent instrumented testing or a like-for-like comparison with a Hellcat.
The R/T’s standard-output SIXPACK is rated at 420 hp and 468 lb-ft. The stronger Scat Pack H.O. is rated at 550 hp and 531 lb-ft; the Scat Pack’s acceleration claims should not be assumed to apply to the R/T.

What the newer Charger changes
The SIXPACK is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six rather than a supercharged V8. For 2026, every Charger has all-wheel drive, while SIXPACK models can switch to rear-wheel drive. That is a meaningful change in engine layout and drivetrain compared with the old Hellcat, but no final like-for-like curb weights or independent performance tests are established here to quantify how those differences affect a direct race.
Dodge’s official explanation of the SIXPACK’s advantage is narrower: the gas engine is intended to offer better horsepower and torque than the outgoing 5.7- and 6.4-liter HEMI engines. It is not a claim that the new engine beats Hellcat, Redeye or Jailbreak output.

Is 550 hp enough to replace the Hellcat?
That depends on what “replace” means. As a new gas-powered Charger with substantial output, the Scat Pack carries the muscle-car role forward. As a replacement for the Hellcat’s peak power, it does not: 550 hp is well below the original Hellcat’s 707 hp, and further below the Redeye’s 797 hp and Jailbreak’s 807 hp. Dodge’s 3.9-second acceleration claim makes the Scat Pack sound quick, but without comparable independent tests it cannot settle which car is faster in real-world conditions.

- Stellantis North America’s 2025 production release gives the Scat Pack H.O. output and Dodge’s claimed acceleration figures.
- Dodge’s 2026 Charger product page lists current model information, including the R/T SIXPACK rating.
- Dodge’s historical timeline records output figures for the original Hellcat and later Redeye variants.
- Stellantis’ 2024 SIXPACK announcement describes the comparison with the outgoing 5.7- and 6.4-liter HEMI engines.
These official sources do not establish independent instrumented acceleration results, final like-for-like curb weights, EPA fuel economy or a complete current price comparison. The acceleration figures above are therefore identified as Dodge claims, and no real-world winner is asserted.
