Who can be added without a fee?
Spouses and domestic partners
Enterprise says a renter’s spouse or domestic partner may be authorized at no added charge when they satisfy the same age and license requirements as the renter. This is an authorization exception, not permission for an unlisted person to drive: the spouse or partner still needs to be added to the rental agreement.

Eligible corporate rentals
Enterprise’s U.S. FAQ describes no-charge additional-driver situations under certain corporate contracts, including commercial rentals and qualifying business partners, employers, or fellow associates. The waiver depends on the contract’s conditions; having a business-related rental or corporate code does not by itself establish eligibility. Check the negotiated agreement or confirm with Enterprise.
How to add an authorized driver
- Go to an Enterprise rental location with the primary renter. Enterprise says an additional driver can be added only at a rental location.
- Bring the additional driver to the counter. They must appear with the primary renter, meet applicable age requirements, and present a valid driver’s license.
- Have Enterprise add them to the rental agreement. Confirm the applicable daily fee and any contract waiver before accepting the change.
If you need to add a driver after the rental has begun, Enterprise says both the renter and additional driver must appear at a location. Charges are calculated for the dates the driver is listed on the contract.

Debit-card rentals have an added restriction
Enterprise’s U.S. FAQ and cited location policies say that when a rental is secured with a debit card, the spouse or domestic partner is the only permitted additional driver. Confirm the payment and driver rules for your pickup location before relying on another person to drive.

No. The $15 and New York $5 figures are U.S. policy amounts and should not be applied to rentals in other countries.
