DJI’s e-bike technology has already reached the United States—but the bikes are sold under the Amflow brand. U.S. sales of the Amflow PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro began on July 30, 2025, with prices starting at $7,499.
Both are premium carbon full-suspension mountain bikes using DJI’s Avinox M1 drive system, an 800-Wh battery, and a charger that can reportedly replenish the battery to 75% in about 1.5 hours. They are powerful, relatively light for full-power eMTBs, and technologically ambitious—but their high prices, limited local dealer coverage, and trail-access rules deserve as much attention as the headline torque figures.

What came to the United States?
The U.S. launch consisted of two premium electric mountain bikes:

- Amflow PL Carbon: $7,499
- Amflow PL Carbon Pro: $10,199
Both launch configurations use an integrated 800-Wh battery, the Avinox M1 drive system, and a 12A/508W Avinox fast charger. The Pro is primarily a higher-spec build, with upgraded suspension and drivetrain components; it does not use a separate motor family.

- - Unlock the potential of your DJI Amflow eMTB! - Increase the assist cutoff speed by 50%, brining it to around 30mph. It will go as fast as you can peddle. - Made from highly magnetic 443 stainless steel, will work properly with stock sensor. - NOTE: Sensor will cause bike computer readings to be inaccurate.
The relationship is straightforward: DJI developed the Avinox drive technology, Avinox is the drive-system platform, and Amflow is the bicycle brand. These are not DJI-branded commuter or cargo e-bikes. They are full-suspension mountain bikes built around DJI technology.
Amflow announced U.S. availability on July 30, 2025, roughly a year after the platform’s introduction at Eurobike 2024 and its earlier European and Australian launches.
U.S. prices and specifications
| Model | U.S. list price | Battery | Suspension | Approximate weight |

What the Avinox motor’s numbers mean
The Avinox M1 drive unit is rated at 105 N·m of torque, with up to 120 N·m in Boost mode. DJI and Amflow also quote up to 1,000 watts of peak power under applicable firmware and assistance settings.

- Packaging Includes: 1pc speed sensor ring
- Quality: Speed sensor ring crafted from 443 stainless steel with optimized magnetic properties
- Easy to install: The speed sensor ring provides stable and reliable speed sensing support for electric bicycles
Those figures are impressive, but they should not be read as a promise of a particular climbing speed or trail range:
- Torque is not speed. It helps the motor deliver force at the crank, especially on steep climbs, but gearing, traction, rider weight, cadence, and terrain still matter.
- Peak power is not continuous power. “Up to 1,000 W” describes a maximum operating condition, not necessarily a motor that continuously produces 1,000 W.
- Boost is an assistance mode. The 120-N·m figure is a maximum associated with Boost rather than the everyday output in every riding mode.
- Firmware matters. The official FAQ associates the 1,000-W peak figure with firmware V00.11.03.04 and specified assistance modes.
The compact drive unit is claimed by DJI to weigh 2.52 kg. The system also includes wireless controls, a two-inch OLED display, app-based ride data and mode customization, and anti-theft and location features.
In practice, the system’s appeal is not simply that it produces large numbers. It combines strong assistance with a carbon chassis that is relatively light for a full-power eMTB. However, repeated Boost use will generally consume more battery and can make the bike’s performance less representative of the advertised maximum range.
Fast charging: 75% in about 90 minutes
The 12A/508W charger is one of the Amflow PL’s more useful features. Amflow and DJI say the 800-Wh battery can reach 75% charge in approximately 1.5 hours.
That is a partial-charge claim—not a promise of a complete charge from empty to full in 90 minutes. Actual charging time can vary with battery temperature, starting charge level, charger conditions, and the bike’s charging limits.
A fast partial charge can be valuable for riders who need to recover enough energy between trail sessions. It does not remove the need to plan a route, monitor battery level, or carry appropriate equipment for a ride. Amflow’s safety guidance also says riders should remain present while charging and should not move the bike during charging. See the DJI Avinox announcement for the charging and drive-system claims.

Range is highly dependent on how you ride
Amflow lists a maximum Eco-mode range of approximately 157 km, or about 98 miles, for the 800-Wh battery. Broader PL documentation also lists approximately 117 km, or 73 miles, for a 600-Wh configuration, but the U.S. PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro specifications list 800-Wh batteries.
The 157-km result was measured under controlled conditions: a paved, flat road, an 80-kg rider, 21 kph, 65-rpm cadence, and default assistance settings. It should not be treated as typical range for aggressive mountain riding.
Steep climbs, technical terrain, high assistance modes, frequent Boost use, cold temperatures, soft tires, a heavier rider, and repeated acceleration can all reduce range substantially. A buyer should treat the advertised figure as a best-case Eco-mode reference, not as a guarantee of a 98-mile trail ride.

U.S. speed limits and trail legality
For the U.S. market, the PL’s maximum pedal-assist speed is configured to 20 mph / 32 kph. The bike’s 1,000-W peak capability and 120-N·m Boost figure do not authorize riding at European-market assist speeds or turn the PL into an unrestricted electric motorcycle.
Legality and access are separate questions. Before riding, check:

The 20-mph U.S. assist setting therefore does not mean the Amflow PL is automatically permitted on every U.S. bike path or mountain-bike trail. Riders should confirm the rules for their intended locations.
How to buy or test an Amflow PL in the U.S.
Amflow says U.S. buyers can use its official online store or authorized local dealers. A test-ride and dealer locator is available, although the locator may show no nearby store depending on the buyer’s ZIP code.
Official U.S. availability does not guarantee nationwide stock or immediate delivery. Before placing an order, confirm:
- The exact frame size and build are in stock.
- The seller is an authorized Amflow dealer.
- The delivered price, including tax and shipping.
- The expected delivery date and damage-claim process.
- Who will perform warranty repairs and diagnostics locally.
- Whether replacement batteries, chargers, displays, and drive units can be obtained.
Amflow currently ships e-bikes to the contiguous United States only. It does not ship bikes or batteries to Alaska, Hawaii, PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or international destinations because of lithium-ion battery shipping restrictions. Verify eligibility before ordering.

Who should consider the Amflow PL?
The PL makes the most sense for an experienced mountain biker who wants strong motor assistance, a large battery, rapid partial charging, and a premium carbon chassis. It is particularly appealing to riders who value the Avinox system’s compact design, high claimed output, wireless controls, display, and connected features.
The standard PL Carbon is the more rational choice for buyers who want the motor and frame platform without paying for the Pro’s highest-end component package. The PL Carbon Pro is easier to justify for serious trail riders who can exploit its upgraded suspension and drivetrain hardware.

It is also a poor choice for riders whose local trails restrict high-powered eMTBs.
Bottom line
The Amflow PL is no longer a future U.S. product: it went on sale on July 30, 2025. At $7,499 for the PL Carbon and $10,199 for the PL Carbon Pro, it brings DJI’s Avinox technology to a premium full-suspension eMTB with 105 N·m of rated torque, up to 120 N·m in Boost, up to 1,000 W of peak power, and an 800-Wh battery that can reportedly reach 75% charge in about 90 minutes.
Its strongest case is the combination of high-output assistance, competitive full-power eMTB weight, and fast partial charging. Its biggest risks are price, local service coverage, uncertain inventory by region, and marketing figures that are easy to mistake for everyday trail performance. Check the exact build, shipping eligibility, dealer support, warranty terms, and trail rules before buying.
