Cox Automotive data reported by TechCrunch put U.S. Q2 2025 sales at 4,508 Hummer EVs and 4,306 Cybertrucks. That is a difference of 202 vehicles in the Hummer EV’s favor. The Hummer count combines its pickup and SUV variants; the Cybertruck count covers the pickup. TechCrunch’s July 16, 2025 report is the source for the comparison.
What does the comparison include?
The headline claim is accurate only with its period and scope made clear. It compares a combined Hummer EV model line with one Tesla model, using reported U.S. sales figures for Q2 2025. It does not establish which individual Hummer variant sold more, nor does one quarter show a lasting sales trend.
What do newer Hummer EV figures show?
General Motors’ U.S. delivery releases report the Hummer EV pickup and SUV together. They show a substantial year-over-year decline in the combined total across the reported 2026 quarters:

The 2026 figures are U.S. deliveries published by GM, while the Q2 2025 comparison is reported sales data attributed to Cox Automotive. Those measures and reporting sources should not be treated as interchangeable without qualification.
How many Cybertrucks did Tesla sell more recently?
Tesla’s Q3 2026 delivery release does not give a standalone Cybertruck total. Its worldwide table reports 8,295 deliveries under “Other Models,” a group total rather than a Cybertruck figure. That number cannot be used to rank Cybertruck against Hummer EV. Tesla’s Q3 2026 delivery release lists Model 3/Y and “Other Models,” but no Cybertruck row.

TechCrunch also reported that Cybertruck sales had reached nearly 17,000 in Q3 2024 before declining. That is historical secondary reporting, not a current model-level total disclosed by Tesla. TechCrunch’s report provides that context.

Not from these figures. The Hummer EV’s U.S. deliveries fell year over year in Q2 and Q3 2026, but Tesla’s Q3 2026 report does not disclose a separate Cybertruck total. A current head-to-head ranking would require comparable model-level figures for the same period and geography. The supported conclusion is narrower: the combined Hummer EV pickup-and-SUV line exceeded Cybertruck in reported U.S. Q2 2025 sales.
