A January 9, 2026, Yahoo Autos report says the Ford Mustang GTD recorded 231 deliveries in the first 11 months of 2025, while Bugatti and Rimac delivered 136 vehicles combined during all of 2025. That works out to about 1.70 GTDs for every Bugatti and Rimac vehicle in the reported comparison—not quite two-to-one. The periods differ, and the report does not establish that the figures share the same geographic scope or delivery-counting method, so the headline is best read as a qualified comparison rather than a like-for-like sales result.
What the reported numbers show
Yahoo Autos reported 231 Mustang GTD deliveries from January through November 2025 and 136 combined Bugatti and Rimac deliveries for calendar-year 2025. Dividing 231 by 136 gives approximately 1.70. The comparison therefore supports “nearly two-to-one” as a rough description of the reported totals, but not as a precise, matched-period sales ratio. Yahoo Autos’ report is the source for both figures.
- GTD: 231 reported deliveries in the first 11 months of 2025.
- Bugatti and Rimac together: 136 reported deliveries across all of 2025.
- Calculated ratio: about 1.70 to 1, using those reported totals.
Why this is not a strict apples-to-apples comparison
The figures differ in the most basic way: the GTD count covers 11 months, while the Bugatti and Rimac total covers 12. The cited report also does not demonstrate that the counts use a common geography or identical definitions of a delivery. Without matching periods, scope, and counting methods, readers cannot treat the ratio as a definitive global comparison of sales performance.
The vehicle groups differ, too. One side is a single, limited-production Mustang variant; the other combines deliveries from two hypercar makers. These totals alone say nothing reliable about relative prices, customer segments, or performance. They compare reported vehicle volumes, not equivalent products or market positions.

Applications, production, and deliveries are different counts
More than 7,500 applications
Ford said in May 2024 that its North American application window for the 2025 and 2026 Mustang GTD model years closed with more than 7,500 applications. That number measures interest expressed through applications; it is not a count of orders, completed sales, or deliveries. Ford’s application announcement identifies the geography and model years covered.
271 units produced in 2025
A separate Ford Authority report, citing Ford production reporting, puts Mustang GTD production at 271 units in calendar 2025. That is a production tally, not the 231-delivery figure reported by Yahoo Autos. Vehicles built and vehicles delivered are distinct measures, and the available reports do not explain the difference between these counts. Ford Authority’s production report provides the 271-unit figure.

What Ford says the Mustang GTD is
Ford describes the GTD as a street-legal, GT3-inspired performance car. In its September 2024 technical announcement, Ford specified an SAE-certified 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, along with a 202 mph (325 km/h) top speed. These are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent test results. Ford’s technical announcement includes the figures and attributes the quoted description of the program’s goal to Mustang GTD Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall: “We’ve been laser focused since day one to make Mustang GTD the first-ever supercar with world-class performance and the soul of a Mustang.”

The claim captures a striking reported volume comparison: 231 GTD deliveries in 11 months against 136 combined Bugatti and Rimac deliveries in a full year. But the different time windows, unestablished shared geography, and unconfirmed matching definitions matter. The available figures support a roughly 1.70-to-1 calculation on the totals as reported—not a verified, same-period, same-basis finding that the GTD outsold both makers by nearly two-to-one.
