Daniel Ricciardo was reportedly doing last-minute Christmas shopping at Perth’s Karrinyup Shopping Centre two days before Christmas in 2023. PerthNow published the sighting on 23 December, describing the F1 driver in a white shirt, shorts and Nike Dunks, and saying he paused for a fan photo. The report did not identify anything he bought.
Where and when Ricciardo was spotted
PerthNow reporter Taylor Renouf reported that Ricciardo was at Karrinyup Shopping Centre on the Saturday before Christmas, 23 December 2023. The report framed the outing as a return to his hometown for the holiday period; it was a single reported sighting, not a confirmed account of his shopping list.
Perth is a meaningful home base for Ricciardo. In a Formula 1 interview published on 29 November 2020, he said: “Monaco is kind of my racing home, but ‘home home’ is still Perth. My family is still out there so normally Christmas and off-season I’m getting back there.”
What he was wearing—and what the report says he bought
The PerthNow account described Ricciardo wearing a white shirt, shorts and Nike Dunks. It also said he stopped to take a picture with a fan. The outfit is simply a reported detail: the article did not identify an exact sneaker model or say he bought any of those items at the shopping centre.

PerthNow’s 2023 story also described Ricciardo’s F1 circumstances at the time: after leaving McLaren, he had spent six months of that season as Red Bull’s reserve driver before joining AlphaTauri mid-season. The report said he hoped to return to Red Bull and quoted his then-stated dream of rejoining the team. Those were his ambitions as reported in December 2023, not a description of his current plans.
Rank #2
A separate PerthNow report dated 5 February 2026 says Ricciardo retired from professional motorsport in September 2025, after eight Formula 1 race wins. It also describes him as a Ford Racing global ambassador and an active promoter of Enchante. That later update is distinct from the career hopes expressed in the 2023 story.
