The estimates also vary by model year, trim, valuation source, and time period, so they should not be treated as guaranteed sale prices or as every owner’s actual loss.
What the estimates say about Cybertruck depreciation
iSeeCars estimates that a Cybertruck loses 49.5% of its value over three years, leaving an estimated resale value of $35,379. Its five-year estimate is 56.5% depreciation, with a projected resale value of $30,418. These are modeled estimates on iSeeCars’ current page, accessed in 2026—not transaction records or offers to buy a particular truck. iSeeCars says its analysis covers more than 15 million vehicles and calculates depreciation from new and used prices at specified vehicle ages, accounting for automaker and vehicle segment. See iSeeCars’ Cybertruck resale-value estimates.
On that same iSeeCars page, the five-year depreciation estimate is 33.3% for pickups overall and 41.7% for all cars. Those comparisons suggest the Cybertruck estimate is high under iSeeCars’ method, but they remain modeled comparisons rather than predictions of an individual owner’s proceeds.
Why the reported percentages differ
Kelley Blue Book’s estimates vary by model year and trim, and its snapshots use different periods and assumptions from iSeeCars. The figures are not directly interchangeable: KBB describes its estimates as using comparable private-party values and Manheim auction forecasts against current private-party and trade-in values. Neither publisher’s figures establish a matched comparison controlling for trim, mileage, condition, location, and valuation date.

| Source and vehicle | Period and estimated change | Value or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Kelley Blue Book, 2024 Cybertruck | Two years; $11,135, or 13%, depreciation | $71,100 estimated resale value; $68,500 estimated trade-in value. KBB describes the model among the top 10% for depreciation among 2024 pickups. KBB 2024 estimate |
| Kelley Blue Book, 2025 Cyberbeast | One year; $15,935, or 15%, depreciation | Condition-based estimates specified ZIP Code 30334 and were valid through 2026-09-10, making this a dated local valuation snapshot. KBB 2025 Cyberbeast estimate |
| Kelley Blue Book, 2025 All-Wheel Drive | One year; $12,035, or 14%, depreciation | The cited page does not state a comparable local valuation detail in the available estimate. KBB 2025 All-Wheel Drive estimate |
| Kelley Blue Book, 2025 Long Range | One year; 7% depreciation | Surfaced result-page estimate; no comparable dollar value or local assumptions are established here. KBB 2025 Long Range estimate |
| iSeeCars, Cybertruck | Five years; 56.5% depreciation | $30,418 estimated resale value; modeled page estimate accessed in 2026. iSeeCars Cybertruck estimate |
The 2025 KBB examples range from 7% to 15% at one year. That spread is a reason not to apply one trim’s estimate to every Cybertruck. A separate iSeeCars 2026 Tesla ranking page gives the Cybertruck a 43.5% five-year resale value and ranks it third among Tesla models. That figure does not align directly with the separate Cybertruck page’s five-year residual estimate; the pages’ cohorts and calculations should not be combined as though they were the same measure. See iSeeCars’ Tesla resale-value ranking.
Resale estimates are not trade-in offers
A private-party resale estimate and a trade-in estimate answer different questions. KBB’s 2024 page, for example, lists $71,100 as estimated resale value and $68,500 as estimated trade-in value. The difference illustrates why an owner should check the valuation type rather than treating a single figure as the amount a dealer or private buyer will pay.

Actual offers can vary with mileage, condition, trim, location, and timing. KBB’s Cyberbeast snapshot explicitly specifies ZIP Code 30334 and an expiration date; it is not a current national price guarantee. The cited sources do not provide transaction data matched across all those variables, so they cannot establish how much a particular Cybertruck owner has actually lost.
How to interpret the comparison with other electric trucks
Kelley Blue Book named the Rivian R1T its 2026 Best Resale Value Award winner among electric trucks. KBB says its award residual values project vehicles in average condition with 75,000 miles at the end of five years. This gives useful award context, but it is a projection, not a direct comparison of matched used Cybertruck and R1T sales. KBB’s 2026 Best Resale Value Awards.

Did Tesla admit Cybertrucks lose value quickly?
No Tesla statement or official document admitting rapid Cybertruck depreciation is established by the available sources. The defensible conclusion is narrower: iSeeCars and Kelley Blue Book publish estimates that indicate substantial depreciation in some periods and trims, with meaningful variation among their figures. Those estimates do not prove every owner’s realized loss, and no verified quote from a Tesla representative or valuation analyst supports the word “admits.”
