The best Ducati Scrambler mods depend on your exact model, year, trim and country—not just the Scrambler name. Ducati’s accessory catalog lets you filter by family, model, year and category. Use it to confirm fitment, approval and any required companion parts before ordering; older brochure ideas are styling inspiration, not proof that a part fits a current bike.
For practical use, prioritize a phone mount, luggage or engine protection. For a more custom look, consider a fairing, grille, plate treatment or cockpit detail. The ten options below distinguish listed Ducati accessories from concepts that need current-generation verification.
How to choose a Ducati Scrambler modification
Start with your bike’s full model name, model year, trim and sales country. Check those details against the exact accessory listing, then ask a Ducati dealer if fitment or dependencies are unclear. This matters especially when comparing multimedia systems: Ducati lists different model-year ranges for part 96680712B and part 96681148AA.
Before buying, consider what you want the change to do and whether it affects road use or installation:

10 Ducati Scrambler mods to consider
1. Add a compact windscreen or headlight fairing
Ducati’s older brochure lists a smoked plexiglass kit and a sport headlight fairing for named legacy Scrambler models. They offer a retro-modern styling direction and may appeal to riders seeking a little more wind deflection, but the cited material does not establish a current equivalent or quantify a wind-protection benefit. Check the current catalog for your generation before shopping.
2. Fit a headlight protection grille
The same legacy brochure describes a steel-mesh grille as reducing the risk of headlight breakage. The listed parts apply only to specified older variants, so confirm current fitment and road approval for your market rather than assuming the grille is universal.

3. Change the number-plate treatment
Ducati’s older catalog shows lateral number-holder plates as a flat-track-inspired styling option for named older models. Plate placement is subject to local rules; check the requirements where the motorcycle is registered before choosing a side-mounted arrangement. The historical listing is not evidence of current availability or fitment.
4. Add engine protection
Ducati lists steel-tube engine cover 96781081A to provide extra impact protection on bumpy surfaces. Its listing says it is not compatible with part 97380281B. Compare the installed configuration and confirm the exact part’s fitment before ordering.

5. Install a rear luggage rack
Ducati rack 96781281A is listed for selected Scrambler variants and model years, with a maximum load of 5.0 kg. That limit applies to the cited rack, not to every Scrambler luggage setup. The listing also specifies a maximum speed of 130 km/h with side bags or a top case in the cited configuration; follow the exact accessory instructions for your bike.
6. Add an enclosed top case
Ducati top case 96780551A has a stated capacity of 38.0 L and a maximum loading capacity of 5 kg. It requires rear rack 96781281A. Confirm that both parts are listed for your specific model and year, and do not treat the case’s volume as permission to exceed its load limit.

7. Mount a phone for navigation
Ducati phone support 96681901AA is listed for specific older Scrambler variants and years. Ducati describes a vibration-reduction design, but that does not establish compatibility with every phone, case or current Scrambler generation. Check the part listing and how your device fits before a ride.
8. Add Bluetooth connectivity
Ducati’s Multimedia System (DMS) is described as connecting smartphones and rider/passenger headsets. Choose by generation: part 96680712B covers an older listed model-year range, while 96681148AA includes newer listed models such as 2023–2026 Icon, Nightshift and Full Throttle, and the 2025 10° Anniversario Rizoma Edition. Those ranges describe the cited listings, not blanket compatibility with every bike carrying those names; verify the exact year and trim.

9. Refresh mirrors or add billet detail
Ducati’s Rizoma left aluminium mirror, 96880541AA, is listed for specific 2023–2026 Icon and Full Throttle versions. It requires companion parts 96880552A and 96880553A, and its type approval is geographically limited. Separately, Ducati’s listing for billet tank cap 97780072AB/97780072AA explicitly says it is not approved for road circulation. Treat that cap as a non-road-use styling item, not a street-legal upgrade.
10. Consider an exhaust and matching bodywork
Ducati lists Scrambler exhaust categories and an exhaust-related side body panel, but approval depends on the exact accessory and country. The catalog warns: “Law forbids use of the motorcycle out of closed race tracks if this exhaust/accessory is installed.” That warning is from Ducati’s official accessories catalog; do not describe an exhaust as road legal without verifying the specific part’s approval for the country where the motorcycle will be used.

A spoke-wheel conversion can be another styling direction, but Ducati’s cited assembly document is old and does not establish current fitment. It says the work should be performed by a specialized technician or authorized Ducati workshop and warns that improper work may compromise rider safety. Confirm applicability and installation requirements with Ducati or a qualified workshop before proceeding.
