The Microlino seats two, has a manufacturer-listed 230-liter trunk, and offers advertised range options up to 228 km under the WMTC test cycle. But route restrictions, charging stops, real-world range and luggage needs matter more than the headline figure.
Is the Microlino suited to a vacation?
The Microlino is a two-seat electric microcar, so it is best considered for a couple or solo traveler carrying a modest amount of luggage—not a family holiday or a trip that depends on unrestricted high-speed-road access. Whether it works comes down to your itinerary: how far you need to travel between charges, where you can recharge, which roads you plan to use and whether your bags fit.

The manufacturer describes the car and its specifications on the Microlino product page. These are manufacturer figures, not independent road-test results.
How far can a Microlino go on one charge?
Microlino lists three battery options with maximum ranges of up to 93 km, 177 km and 228 km under WMTC. The figure depends on the selected battery and is a test-cycle maximum, not a promise of the distance you will cover on a vacation route. The official configurator warns that riding style, vehicle load, topography and season can affect practical range.

- A great gift idea!
Plan around the shortest distance you can comfortably cover in your actual conditions, with a buffer for detours, weather and finding a working charger. A hilly route, cold season or heavily loaded car can make the advertised maximum a poor planning target.
How much luggage fits?
The manufacturer lists a 230-liter trunk and says it can accommodate one large suitcase and two pieces of hand luggage. That gives a useful packing guide, but bag dimensions and shape still matter. For a longer stay, check that your actual luggage fits rather than assuming the stated example covers every suitcase.
How long does charging take?
The manufacturer’s configurator gives approximate charging times to 80% for its three battery configurations:
| Battery configuration | Approximate time to 80% |
|---|---|
| 5.5 kWh Standard Range | About 2 hours |
| 10.5 kWh Medium Range | About 4 hours |
| 15 kWh Long Range | About 6 hours |
These are manufacturer-listed approximate times; confirm the specification for the exact vehicle and market. The product page describes charging from a household socket, but that does not guarantee a suitable outlet will be available where you stay. Ask your accommodation about charging access and permission before booking, and allow for charging time in the itinerary.
Check whether your route is legal and practical
Road rules depend on where the vehicle is registered and driven, as well as its specific version. For example, a Romanian Microlino market page says the 90 km/h L7e version is prohibited on motorways and express roads. That restriction is specific to the cited market; it should not be assumed to describe the rules everywhere.
Before setting off, check the local rules for the car’s classification, licensing and road access, then map a route that avoids roads the vehicle cannot use. A route that looks short on a standard navigation app may not be suitable if it relies on a restricted road or leaves too few charging options.
Can you rent one at your destination?
Micro Rent describes hotel-hosted Microlino rental or guest-benefit options. Its service page does not establish availability in a particular destination or guarantee a public referral program. Contact the hotel or operator directly to confirm whether a car is available for your dates, what the guest offer includes, and the applicable booking and driving requirements.
Quick Recap

- Choose a battery configuration suited to the longest leg of your route, leaving a realistic range buffer.
- Confirm charging access at overnight stops and identify alternatives along the way.
- Test your luggage against the 230-liter trunk and the manufacturer’s suitcase example.
- Check local licensing and road restrictions for the exact Microlino version.
