The Wingamm Oasi 540.1 has a case for appealing to U.S. travelers who want a small motorhome without giving up an indoor bathroom: Wingamm lists it for the U.S. and describes a roughly 17.8-foot layout with four travel seats and two beds. But “America’s favorite” is a question, not a proven ranking—there is no sales leaderboard or representative consumer survey in the available sources to establish that claim.
What is the Wingamm Oasi 540.1?
Wingamm is an Italian motorhome manufacturer. Its U.S. site lists the Oasi 540.1 for American buyers, and the model is built on a RAM ProMaster platform. Wingamm’s product identity centers on a fiberglass monocoque living cell, rather than a conventional body assembled from multiple wall panels. How big is the Oasi 540.1, and how many people can it accommodate?
Wingamm lists the Oasi 540.1 at approximately 213.39 inches long—about 17.8 feet—with four travel seats and two beds. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s stated configuration; the two beds do not mean it sleeps four. The company’s 2021 announcement called its under-18-foot, four-sleeper, full-bathroom concept a “Micro Class RV,” but that was Wingamm’s category definition, not an industry-wide standard or independent proof of uniqueness. Wingamm’s 2021 announcement describes that positioning.
The four travel seats and two beds answer different questions: seating indicates how many people the listed configuration accommodates while traveling, while beds indicate sleeping capacity. If four people need to sleep aboard, confirm the exact floor plan and sleeping arrangements with the dealer rather than assuming the Oasi 540.1’s two beds provide four berths.

What does the fiberglass monocoque construction mean?
A monocoque body uses a continuous structural shell. Wingamm says its first living cell made with a fiberglass monocoque dates to 1982, and attributes insulation, strength, and resistance to water ingress to this construction. Those are manufacturer claims; the available material does not provide independent comparative tests or quantified durability results. What are the weight details?
Wingamm lists the Oasi 540.1’s total mass as 7,716 lb. Treat that as the manufacturer’s stated figure for its listed configuration, not a substitute for the vehicle’s actual ratings or loaded weight. Before purchase, check the specific unit’s vehicle documents and ratings, including how optional equipment affects the available carrying capacity.

Is it available in the United States?
Wingamm’s U.S. website lists the Oasi 540.1 as available in the USA. That establishes the manufacturer’s stated U.S. availability, not current inventory, delivery timing, or availability from a dealer near you. Confirm those details directly with Wingamm USA or an authorized dealer.
Could it be America’s favorite camper?
It could suit a particular kind of buyer: someone who values a compact overall length, wants four travel seats, and is drawn to a motorhome with a fiberglass monocoque body. The sources establish no U.S. market-share ranking or representative consumer-preference survey, however, so they cannot show that it is America’s favorite or a market leader by sales.

- Length and maneuverability: Consider where you plan to drive, park, and camp; a short body alone does not establish how easy a particular vehicle is to handle.
- Seats versus beds: Match the number of belted travel seats and sleeping berths to your group.
- Bathroom and storage: Inspect the actual layout and decide whether its facilities and storage work for your trips.
- Chassis, ratings, and payload: Verify the specific unit’s documentation and equipment rather than relying only on a model-page mass figure.
- Service and parts: Ask about support and parts access where you plan to travel.
- Price and delivery: Request current pricing and timing from a dealer; the cited specifications and announcements do not establish them.
What to verify with a dealer
Model year, equipment, ratings, and availability can matter as much as the model name. Ask the dealer to confirm the exact vehicle’s specifications, seating and sleeping configuration, weight documentation, price, delivery outlook, and service arrangements before deciding whether the compact format is worth the trade-offs for your travel needs.
