Cars.com reports that the Hornet was discontinued for the 2026 model year after production was suspended in summer 2025. Some Hornets may still be available at select dealers.
What Dodge says about the Hornet’s status
Dodge’s official Hornet FAQ answers the question “Is the Dodge Hornet discontinued?” with this wording: “Production of the Dodge Hornet has been paused indefinitely to make way for new additions to the Dodge Brand lineup, however, the Hornet may be available at select dealers.”
That is a clear signal that Hornet production is not currently proceeding as usual, but “paused indefinitely” is more precise than saying Dodge has formally announced a permanent end date. The FAQ does not specify when, or whether, production will resume.
What the 2026 model-year report says
Cars.com reported on January 15, 2026, that the Hornet was discontinued for the 2026 model year and that production had been suspended in summer 2025. That model-year framing and timing come from Cars.com; Dodge’s current FAQ uses the indefinite-pause wording instead.

- Official licensed product
- 1/27 scale diecast model measuring 7.5x3x2.5 inches
- Openable doors, hood and detail interior, rubber tires
- fully assembled, not a building kit, not a RC, not battery operated
- Ships in factory window box, sold by All Star Toys
Why production was paused
Cars.com reported that the company attributed its decision to “shifts in the policy environment,” with tariffs as the context. Dodge’s current FAQ does not identify tariffs or give a specific reason beyond making way for additions to the Dodge lineup, so the policy explanation should be understood as Cars.com’s reporting rather than wording on Dodge’s FAQ.
Can you still buy a Dodge Hornet?
Possibly. Dodge says Hornets may remain available at select dealers and advises shoppers to contact a local dealer or search inventory through its Hornet page. Stock varies by dealer and over time, so the availability statement is not a guarantee that a new Hornet is currently on a lot near you. Dodge directs used-Hornet shoppers to local dealers as well.
