Announced for Hall Racing’s Open Production EV entry at the 2025 Mint 400, it is a purpose-built race concept, not a retail Silverado EV trim.
What Chevrolet announced
Chevrolet unveiled the concept on March 5, 2025, as a truck intended to compete at the Mint 400 with Hall Racing. The announcement named Chad Hall, Hall Racing’s owner and primary driver, as the driver. It describes the planned entry, not the truck’s eventual event result. Chevrolet’s announcement says the truck was developed in five months and uses roughly 98% GM production parts.
Those figures are Chevrolet’s descriptions of its concept, not independent measurements. Using production parts does not make the race truck a production model or establish that its race components are available for customer purchase.

Chevrolet attributes these specifications to the race concept in its March 2025 announcement; they are not independently tested results. The announcement names the tire model and diameter but does not provide a complete tire size, wheel dimensions, or retail fitment information. That is not enough to identify a specific tire SKU or establish fitment on a consumer Silverado EV.

Why the headline figure is 1,100 hp
The supplied “1,110 horsepower” wording does not match Chevrolet’s published specification. The company says the concept’s tri-motor system produces 1,100 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. Without a separate verified source for 1,110 hp, that higher figure should not be attributed to this truck.
How it differs from the production Silverado EV Trail Boss
The race concept and the retail Silverado EV Trail Boss are different vehicles. Chevrolet’s current 2026 Silverado EV page describes the Trail Boss with a 2-inch lift, 18-inch wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and up to 725 horsepower with Wide Open Watts. Those are Trail Boss specifications, not specifications for the ZR2 race concept.

Chevrolet said the race program could inform production vehicles and performance parts, and its announcement cited more than 44 off-road performance parts and accessories available for production trucks. It does not say that those parts fit the race concept, nor does it identify a specific Silverado EV ZR2 consumer package.

Chevrolet vice president Scott Bell described competitive racing as a way to test vehicle limits. Hall said that learnings from racing are applied to vehicles consumers can buy and compared the wear and tear of a Mint 400 race to a vehicle’s lifetime of use. Those are the company and team’s stated rationale for racing; they are not evidence that a particular production component was changed as a result.

The announcement identifies Hall Racing’s planned Open Production EV entry and Chad Hall as driver, but does not report the truck’s finish or placing. The 1,100-hp figure, hardware details, and event entry should therefore be treated as announced concept specifications and plans, not proof of a race result or a customer-available model.
