Chery UK announced its Approved Used scheme on 7 October 2026. The launch summary says every car sold through the programme comes with a minimum two-year warranty, while Chery Super Hybrid models also receive a battery health certificate. The announcement does not establish the scheme’s inspection standards or the certificate’s tests, so buyers should ask for those details in writing before purchasing.
What Chery Approved Used includes
Chery positions the programme as a way to make choosing a pre-owned Chery quicker and easier. According to the launch announcement summary, each Approved Used vehicle comes with a minimum two-year warranty. The summary does not set out exclusions, claim limits, or how this warranty interacts with any remaining original cover.
Super Hybrid battery certificate
The announcement says Approved Used Chery Super Hybrid models receive a battery health certificate. It does not explain how battery health is measured, what results or thresholds appear on the certificate, or whether the document guarantees a particular battery condition. Ask the retailer to show you the certificate for the specific car and explain its findings before agreeing to buy.
What the launch information does not establish
The available announcement summary does not specify the programme’s inspection checklist, vehicle age or mileage limits, preparation requirements, warranty exclusions, or return policy. Do not assume a car has passed a particular inspection or meets an age or mileage threshold unless the retailer confirms it in writing. Ask for the inspection and preparation record, the full warranty terms, and the applicable returns policy for the vehicle you are considering.

Keep the warranty and other ownership offers separate
Chery’s general warranty information describes new-car cover of up to seven years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and an eight-year or 100,000-mile high-voltage battery warranty for Super Hybrid models, subject to terms and exclusions. Those are separate general warranty claims; the Approved Used announcement does not say that every used car receives the full new-car warranty or explain how any remaining original cover combines with its minimum two-year warranty.
Chery lists a separate Approved Used service plan for vehicles over one year old, covering two, three, or four years of services. The page gives model-specific annual prices, which can change, so check its current terms and pricing. It describes official plans as using genuine Chery parts and trained technicians. The service plan is an additional ownership option, not a confirmed inclusion with an Approved Used car.

Chery’s UK network figures and independent context
In the launch announcement, Chery UK said its retailer network had reached 100 sites, that 78% of the UK population lived within 30 minutes of a retailer, and that the brand had reached a 2.79% share of the UK new-car market after little more than a year. These are company-announcement figures reported in the syndicated announcement summary, not independently audited measures in the material available here.
The Motor Ombudsman reported that CHERY UK gained accreditation to its New Car Code. The Ombudsman says the Code covers around 98% of new passenger vehicles sold in the UK and includes recommendations for clear consumer communications and effective complaints procedures. This is context about the New Car Code; it does not establish that the Approved Used programme is covered by that Code or by a used-car code. See The Motor Ombudsman’s accreditation announcement.
