CarCareKiosk is a free, vehicle-specific video guide for common car maintenance and repair tasks. Choose a vehicle, select a task—such as replacing an air filter or changing oil—and follow a visual walkthrough. It can add procedural detail to an owner’s manual, but it does not establish that every procedure fits every trim or is suitable for every driver.
What CarCareKiosk offers
CarCareKiosk organizes how-to videos around a selected vehicle and a task. Its home page includes examples such as checking tire pressure, changing a flat, replacing wiper blades or bulbs, checking or changing oil, replacing cabin and engine air filters, jump-starting or replacing a battery, checking brake fluid or coolant, flushing coolant, and replacing a fuse. The company describes the videos as free and specific to a car. Its current home page reports “over 60,000 free how-to videos produced since 2010”; that is the company’s own figure, not an independently counted inventory (CarCareKiosk home page).
How to find a video for your car
- Open the vehicle selector. On the CarCareKiosk home page, use “Pick Your Vehicle.”
- Select your vehicle. Choose the year, make, and model that match your car.
- Choose the task. Browse the available maintenance or repair categories and open the relevant procedure.
- Check applicability before starting. Confirm that the steps and any parts or tools fit your vehicle’s trim, engine, and configuration. If anything differs or is unclear, consult authoritative service information or a qualified technician rather than assuming the video covers your exact setup.
How its vehicle-specific approach works
CarCareKiosk says it uses a database and algorithm to select a video based on the vehicle a user queries. Its explanation of the production approach also describes using graphics, sometimes switching from one car to another, and limiting detail to avoid overwhelming viewers (author and founder biography; How CarCareKiosk Works). These are the company’s descriptions; they do not independently establish database coverage or matching accuracy. A video’s vehicle selection should not be taken to mean that every shot shows the same trim, engine, or configuration as yours.
What it can—and cannot—replace
CarCareKiosk’s founder page says, “The owner’s manual often doesn’t include enough detail for drivers to fix common problems on their vehicle.” A video can therefore be useful as a procedural companion for a familiar, appropriate task. The site does not establish that its videos replace the owner’s manual, vehicle-specific service information, or professional repair.

| Guidance source | Useful for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| CarCareKiosk video | Visual, task-focused instructions for listed maintenance and repair procedures. | Confirm fit with your exact vehicle and your ability to perform the task safely. |
| Owner’s manual | Vehicle-specific operating information and the guidance included by the manufacturer. | Use it for requirements and cautions relevant to your vehicle; it may not show every repair step. |
| Vehicle-specific repair manual or service information | More detailed procedures intended for a particular vehicle or configuration. | Make sure the material covers the exact year, model, engine, and relevant configuration. |
| Qualified repair professional | Work requiring specialist knowledge, equipment, diagnosis, or hands-on assessment. | Use professional help when the job is safety-critical, high-voltage, structurally complex, or unfamiliar. |
The available company pages do not provide a controlled comparison of accuracy, repair outcomes, completion time, or cost across these options. Treat a video as guidance to evaluate, not proof that a procedure is correct for every variation of a vehicle.

Some tasks naturally call for a compatible part, consumable, or tool: a bulb, filter, battery, fluid, wiper blade, tire-pressure gauge, or oil-filter wrench, for example. Check the video’s procedure and your vehicle’s specifications before buying anything; the right item depends on the exact application. CarCareKiosk’s about page lists partnerships with automotive and retail brands, but those historical mentions do not establish that every relationship remains active or that a particular recommendation is an affiliate offer (About CarCareKiosk).

CarCareKiosk says it was founded in 2010 and that its videos are produced by ASE-certified technicians. Its author page identifies founder and Managing Member Hans Angermeier as certified by Automotive Service Excellence in Maintenance and Light Repair; these are company-published claims, not independently verified credentials in the cited pages (About CarCareKiosk; Hans Angermeier biography). The biography also says Angermeier has produced over 100,000 videos, while the home page reports over 60,000 videos for the service. The pages do not explain how those counts relate, so they should not be treated as equivalent measures.
