The Car.Los V1 is a front-loading Long John cargo e-bike designed to fold between rides. New Atlas reported folded dimensions of 108 × 44 × 83 cm (42.5 × 17.3 × 32.6 in), but the front Vario Basket must be detached and carried separately before folding—so the bike’s compacted size does not include its cargo module.
How the Car.Los V1 folds
The V1’s defining feature is a folding mid-frame that New Atlas said could reduce the bike’s size in a few seconds. It also has a folding handlebar, and the Vario Basket can fold closed when empty. However, the basket must be removed from the bike before the frame folds. That means storage planning needs to account for both the folded bicycle and a separate basket.
New Atlas reported folded dimensions of 108 × 44 × 83 cm (42.5 × 17.3 × 32.6 in) in its December 20, 2024 article. Treat those as figures reported for the V1 in that article, not independently measured dimensions or a guarantee for every current Model V configuration.
What the 2024 report says about the V1
New Atlas’s December 20, 2024 coverage listed the following specifications. The current CAR.LOS Model V page describes the folding cargo-bike concept, but the retrieved maker material does not confirm that every figure below applies unchanged to all current trims.

New Atlas said a per-charge range figure had not been shared. The reported battery capacity alone does not establish how far the bike will travel between charges.
Front cargo and compatible accessories
As a Long John, the Car.Los places its main cargo area ahead of the rider. CAR.LOS currently lists the CAR.LOS Model V and a range of Vario accessories, including a rear carrier, panniers, frame bag and basket cover.

- The front Vario Basket is separate from the bike for folding; New Atlas reported its capacity as up to 65 kg for the V1.
- CAR.LOS says its panniers require the Vario folding basket. The maker identifies that basket as standard on the Full trim and optional on Basic.
- The maker’s accessories page lists Vario-specific options. Confirm the selected trim’s included equipment and accessory compatibility before choosing a configuration.
- The dedicated CAR.LOS Vario Rear Basket listing identifies it for the Vario V model and gives a maximum payload of 25 kg. This is a rear accessory, distinct from the front Vario Basket.
What to check before planning storage or a purchase
The maker currently describes a CAR.LOS Model V, while the headline and specification figures above concern the V1 as covered in 2024. Confirm the exact model, trim, included basket and current dimensions for the configuration being considered. The reported folded dimensions also do not include the detached front basket.
Current price, local availability and dealer coverage are not established here. The bike was shown as a prototype at Eurobike 2023, according to New Atlas, but that historical appearance does not establish present stock or availability.

Not the FOLD E-Fold
The Car.Los V1 is not the FOLD E-Fold described in a separate New Atlas article dated October 31, 2025. That later story concerns a different folding Long John bike and its own dimensions and specifications; those details should not be attributed to the CAR.LOS.
