Which Harley-Davidson Softail can you no longer buy?
The headline does not identify a model year or market, so it cannot support a blanket claim that a popular Softail is no longer available. Harley-Davidson’s 2026 U.S. cruiser announcement names six models and leaves out the Fat Bob; a separate India-market announcement says Fat Bob is being discontinued from that market’s 2025 Cruiser lineup. Those are meaningful clues, but they do not establish that Fat Bob is unavailable worldwide or in the United States.
Harley-Davidson’s 2026 U.S. Street Bob listing identifies the Street Bob as a Softail and gives a starting price of $14,999+. That directly contradicts any interpretation that says no Softails can be bought new in the U.S.

Fat Bob is not among the models named. An omission from this announcement is not, by itself, proof that the model is unavailable in every market, that existing dealer inventory is gone, or that the motorcycle has been permanently discontinued globally. What the Fat Bob discontinuation claim actually covers
Hero MotoCorp’s India-market 2025 release says Fat Bob is being discontinued from the 2025 Cruiser lineup in India. That is the clearest documented discontinuation claim here, and its scope matters: it concerns one model in one market’s stated model-year lineup. It does not establish U.S. availability or worldwide status.

How to check whether a particular Softail is still for sale
- Identify the exact model. A claim about “a Softail” is too broad; confirm whether it refers to Fat Bob, Street Bob, or another model.
- Match the model year and country. Manufacturer lineups are market- and year-specific. Check the relevant Harley-Davidson country site or an official market announcement.
- Separate a current model from dealer stock. A model missing from a new-lineup announcement may still appear as an unsold new motorcycle at a dealer. Confirm whether the listing is new, its model year, and whether it is actually available.
- Assess used listings independently. If new examples are not available, compare used motorcycles by model year, condition, mileage, price, and warranty status. No inventory or pricing comparison is established here.
Does the Fat Boy Gray Ghost figure explain the claim?
No. Harley-Davidson’s 2025 Fat Boy Gray Ghost page says 1,990 units are rolling out for that limited Icons release. That figure applies to the Gray Ghost edition; it is not a sales total, a production figure for all Fat Boys, or evidence that the unnamed headline model is discontinued.
