Yes—but the answer depends on the Corvette’s model year and trim, your commute, and how much sports-car compromise you are willing to accept. Chevrolet positions the Stingray for “everyday performance,” while describing the Z06 as track-focused and street-legal. Those descriptions explain each model’s intended character; they do not establish that every Corvette will be comfortable or inexpensive to run as a daily car.
Start with the exact Corvette
“High-power Corvette” is not a single configuration. Model year and trim matter: Chevrolet lists a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 for the Stingray, while its current Z06 page specifies a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated LT6 V8. The 2026 owner manual also distinguishes LT6 Z06 applications from LT2 Stingray and E-Ray applications. Use the manual and specifications for the particular car rather than assuming that equipment or service information carries across trims or years.

Chevrolet describes the Stingray as an option for “everyday performance”. The current Z06 product page gives the Z06 a 670-horsepower output and an 8,600-rpm redline, and calls it “TRACK BORN, STREET READY.” That is Chevrolet’s positioning, not an independent assessment of daily comfort.
What fuel economy should you expect?
There is no defensible single MPG figure for an unspecified “high-power Corvette.” Fuel economy is tied to the exact model year and configuration. For a U.S. EPA rating, look up the chosen vehicle through the EPA Fuel Economy site; do not substitute a rating from a different trim or year.

The 2026 Corvette owner manual lists an approximate 18.5-gallon fuel-tank capacity. That is a capacity figure, not an estimate of miles per gallon or driving range. Actual fuel use also depends on how the car is driven, so performance driving and routine commuting should not be treated as equivalent conditions.
Will it be comfortable on your commute?
Comfort is a fit question, not something a suspension feature list can answer by itself. Chevrolet lists Magnetic Selective Ride Control as available on the 2025 Stingray and standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 on the current Z06. These specifications do not amount to a measured ride-quality comparison between trims.

Before deciding, drive the exact car on roads and in situations similar to your routine. Pay attention to:
- How the seats and driving position feel over your usual trip length.
- Whether road noise and ride feel are acceptable on the surfaces you regularly use.
- Entry and exit, sightlines, traffic visibility, and parking maneuvers.
- Whether the storage you can access in that specific car suits your ordinary errands.
- Whether the route includes ramps or other road features that give you concern; assess the actual car rather than assuming a universal ground-clearance figure.
Chevrolet’s descriptions can help you understand the intended emphasis—Stingray for everyday performance, Z06 for track focus—but only a test drive can tell you whether a particular configuration works for your day-to-day use.

How to think about maintenance and warranty
Use the owner manual for the car’s model year and configuration for operating and maintenance guidance. Do not copy a schedule or specification from another Corvette simply because the cars share a name. The 2026 Corvette Owner Manual, for example, distinguishes the LT6 application in the Z06 from LT2 applications in the Stingray and E-Ray.
Chevrolet’s warranty information says active warranties transfer to a new owner subject to stated exceptions. It also identifies issues such as improper maintenance, improper fuel, misuse, or alteration among conditions that can affect coverage. Check the warranty booklet applicable to the vehicle and ask a Chevrolet dealer to confirm terms for its VIN and market.

No reliable trim-specific annual maintenance-cost figure is established here. The cost for an individual car can depend on its year, configuration, use, condition, and local labor and parts pricing. For a used Corvette, review its service history and have a qualified shop assess its condition instead of relying on a generic annual-cost estimate.
