The report also recorded about 181 kW and 753 V on the car’s display. That is an account of a single session—not a controlled test or a guarantee for every SU7 or charger.
What happened in the reported SU7 charging session?
Gizmochina’s April 10, 2024 report says an SU7 Max owner charged at a Huawei supercharging station and saw the displayed range increase by about 10 km in 30–40 seconds. The reported screen snapshot showed 181 kW and 753 V, with 216 km of range displayed. Gizmochina’s account of the session relays a user-posted test; it is not an independently controlled benchmark.
The figures describe that reported moment, not a standard charging rate. The account does not document the starting state of charge, battery temperature, exact charger model, full charging curve, or how the car calculated its displayed range. Without those details, the result cannot establish how often another SU7 would show the same increase.
How does this differ from Xiaomi’s 510 km in 15 minutes claim?
In a separate launch-era statement, Xiaomi said the SU7 Max could gain 510 km of range after 15 minutes of charging. That is Xiaomi’s manufacturer claim, not the measurement from the user-posted 30–40-second session. The two figures should not be treated as interchangeable test results. Does the 40-second result apply to the newer SU7?
No such conclusion is established by the 2024 report. Xiaomi’s investor material says the new-generation SU7 series launched in March 2026 and that sales of the first-generation SU7 had been discontinued by Q1 2026. The short charging-session account concerns a first-generation-era SU7 Max; it should not be presented as proof of the newer generation’s charging performance. What to check when comparing SU7 charging claims
A brief dashboard range increase is difficult to compare across cars or sessions unless the conditions match. Useful details include:
- The exact SU7 model and generation.
- Starting battery state of charge and battery temperature or preconditioning.
- The charger’s delivered power and the vehicle’s charging curve during the interval.
- Whether “range” means the dashboard estimate or an energy-based measurement.
- The test cycle and conditions behind any manufacturer range claim.
The 2024 account does not provide enough information to resolve those variables, so its headline figure is best read as an anecdotal result from one reported session.
