Yes, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 has a credible chance to compete in India’s electric two-wheeler market—but it is too early to call it a mass-market challenger or a proven success. It is a distinctive, premium electric motorcycle aimed at urban and urban-plus riding. Its price, phased rollout and real-world ownership performance will determine whether that proposition finds enough buyers.
What has launched in India, and where is it available?
Eicher Motors announced the Flying Flea C6 in Bengaluru on 9 April 2026. Royal Enfield said it would be available from 10 April through the first Flying Flea store, with deliveries beginning at the end of May. The announced price is ₹2.79 lakh ex-showroom, or ₹1.99 lakh under Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS). The company said rollout would proceed city by city. A launch is not the same as nationwide availability. The official Flying Flea site currently lists one dealership, in Jayanagar, Bengaluru; its FAQ says bookings and test rides are being phased by city. Check the site for current access in your location. Flying Flea was introduced as a new electric mobility brand in February 2025, but those early plans should not be read as the present rollout status.
What does the Flying Flea C6 offer?
Royal Enfield presents the C6 as a characterful electric motorcycle for city and “urban-plus” use, emphasizing agility, connected technology and distinctive design rather than long-distance touring. Its retro-futuristic styling differentiates it from more conventional electric two-wheelers, while its motorcycle format gives it a different proposition from the scooters that account for much of the broader segment.

The 154 km figure is an ideal-condition IDC claim, not a guarantee of everyday range or an independent test result. Royal Enfield says actual range varies with riding style and conditions. The company’s C6 product page and FAQ provide the published specifications and range qualification.
Safety and connected equipment
The launch announcement lists lean-angle sensing ABS, traction control, tip-over alert, live location sharing, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and remote monitoring. The product page also names Fleaware.OS. These are manufacturer-published features; they do not, by themselves, establish how the systems perform in use or the motorcycle’s long-term reliability.
How large is India’s electric two-wheeler market?
India’s overall electric two-wheeler category is substantial and growing. The Ministry of Heavy Industries reported 11,49,334 electric two-wheelers sold in FY 2024–25, up 21% from 9,48,561 in FY 2023–24, in a 2025 Press Information Bureau release.
A later government snapshot showed 10,98,721 registered plus temporarily registered electric two-wheelers in FY 2025–26 as of 16 September 2026 on the PM E-DRIVE dashboard. The dashboard says its totals use digitized records in centralized Vahan 4 and omit some Lakshadweep RTO data, so this is a dated snapshot rather than a final audited full-market total.

Neither figure establishes demand for premium electric motorcycles specifically. They do not show how many buyers prefer motorcycles over scooters, how many will consider the C6’s price, or whether Royal Enfield can provide the service coverage customers need. The market trend makes the opportunity credible; it does not prove that the C6 will sell well.
What will decide whether the C6 can compete?
Price and total ownership cost
The announced ex-showroom price is one part of the buying decision. Compare the on-road cost and the full BaaS terms, rather than treating the ₹1.99 lakh BaaS figure as the complete purchase or ownership cost. The relevant comparison is with vehicles a buyer would actually cross-shop, including their purchase price and ongoing costs.
Everyday range and charging access
Use the IDC figure as a test-cycle claim, not a prediction of a particular rider’s daily distance. A buyer should consider commute length, riding conditions, charging access and the time needed to recharge. The company’s 65-minute claim covers a 20–80% charge; it does not state a full-charge time in the cited product information.
Fit for the intended ride
The C6’s stated urban-plus positioning suggests evaluating it for regular city trips and the occasional longer urban ride, rather than assuming it is a touring motorcycle. Comfort, passenger practicality and performance for the routes a buyer uses are important comparison points, but published specifications alone cannot settle them.

Local support and ownership terms
A phased city rollout makes dealer access, servicing, warranty coverage and battery terms important questions to check before booking. The launch materials and product pages establish the announced offering, but do not provide independent evidence of service quality or long-term ownership performance.
Buyer response and sustained sales
India’s category-wide registrations are not a substitute for C6 sales data. Evidence of sustained demand would need to come from the model’s own registrations or other credible sales reporting over time; a launch announcement cannot show whether buyers keep choosing it after deliveries begin.

The C6 is worth considering if you want a distinctive electric motorcycle for urban riding and can assess its cost, range and support against your own use. Before booking, verify the current price and BaaS terms, local test-ride and delivery availability, warranty and battery conditions, charging arrangements, and the company’s current incentive eligibility information.
The PM E-DRIVE scheme was extended through 31 March 2028 for all segments except L5 electric three-wheelers, according to the scheme’s official site. That extension does not establish that the C6 qualifies for a specific incentive. Confirm the vehicle’s eligibility and current scheme terms rather than assuming a subsidy applies.

Royal Enfield’s stated strategy is to create a category of urban mobility rooted in experience, not just specifications. That is a company ambition, not evidence of market acceptance. The stronger case for the C6 will depend on wider access, credible everyday ownership performance and continued buyer demand at its price.
