Whether your Kia needs an adapter depends on its charge port: CCS1-port vehicles need a Kia-approved NACS-to-CCS adapter, while a Kia with a NACS port can use a compatible NACS cable without one. Check your vehicle and the live station listing in the Kia Access app before you go.
Which Kia EVs can use Tesla Superchargers?
Access is available to certain Kia EVs, not every Kia model or every Supercharger. Kia’s April 24, 2025 announcement named EV6, EV9, and Niro EV owners with a standard NACS port or a Kia NACS adapter. Kia’s owner guidance directs drivers to Kia Access to find compatible stations. Check your exact model and the live listing there rather than assuming a particular site or stall will work. Do you need an adapter?
Look at the charge port on your vehicle before buying anything. The adapter direction depends on whether your Kia has a CCS1 or NACS port.

Kia says its adapter is developed and tested for Kia vehicles and may not work with other makes. Kia also says its NACS adapter is not compatible with 2015–2019 Soul EVs. Verify the adapter’s fitment with Kia for your exact vehicle; do not assume a generic adapter is approved. See Kia’s current owner guidance.

How to find a compatible Supercharger
- Open the Kia Access app and use its charging-station search to look for compatible locations.
- Check the station details and live availability before routing there. Compatibility and whether a stall is operational can vary.
- Review the price and any site-specific terms shown in the app before starting a session.
- At the station, use the connector and Kia-approved adapter arrangement specified for your charge port and follow the vehicle’s charging instructions.
Kia also describes Kia Charge Pass features for finding public stations and managing charging sessions. The app’s live information is more useful for a trip than a network-wide count published in an earlier announcement.
What charging may cost
Charging prices and extra fees are set by the charger owner or site host, so check the terms for the specific station in Kia Access. Depending on the location, possible additional charges include idle, parking, congestion, or time-of-use fees; these are not universal charges. Kia’s owner guidance describes these possible public-charging charges.

What Kia’s network figures mean
In an April 24, 2025 announcement, Kia America reported more than 21,500 Tesla Superchargers, more than 22,000 accessible DC fast chargers in other networks, and more than 40,000 accessible DC fast chargers total. These are Kia’s figures published at that time—not a verified current count. Read Kia America’s announcement.
Kia’s September 24, 2024 release had described more than 16,500 NACS DC fast chargers as a planned first-quarter 2025 access count and projected that the announced access would expand Kia-accessible DC charge points by more than 83 percent. Those were historical plans and a company projection, not current inventory or a present-day measurement. Read the 2024 announcement.

Adapter eligibility and availability
Kia’s owner page describes complimentary-adapter eligibility with specific model-year, delivery-date, redemption, and supply conditions, and says adapters may be available for purchase to other Kia EV owners. The page does not guarantee current stock. Confirm current eligibility and availability directly with Kia before relying on an offer or making a purchase. Check Kia’s owner guidance.
