The C7 Chevrolet Corvette can be converted into a two-door shooting brake—but not by Chevrolet. Callaway’s AeroWagen replaces the coupe’s rear hatch with an opening carbon-fiber assembly, creating the wagon-like profile while retaining the underlying Corvette. The conversion is separate from Callaway’s engine upgrades: the often-quoted 757-hp figure belongs to the SC757 Z06 package, not to the AeroWagen hatch.
What the C7 Corvette AeroWagen is
Callaway describes the AeroWagen as a shooting-brake conversion for C7 Corvette coupes. “Wagon” is a convenient shorthand, but this is not a factory Chevrolet model or a full vehicle re-body. The conversion changes the rear bodywork and hatch while keeping the C7 coupe underneath.
Callaway’s C21 project page describes the assembly as carbon fiber and says it was developed for Stingray and Z06 coupes, including standard-production and Callaway-enhanced cars. What changes—and what stays familiar
The AeroWagen package replaces the standard rear hatch with a part-for-part assembly. Callaway says it uses the Corvette’s original hardware and latching mechanisms, operates like the original hatch, and can be removed so the standard hatch can be reinstalled. The package page lists the hatch assembly, upper spoiler, halo bar, tempered glass, rear spoiler, AeroWagen badging, OEM-color paint and installation.

Why the AeroWagen is not automatically a 757-hp Corvette
The hatch conversion does not produce the 757-hp figure. Callaway offered the AeroWagen alongside separate performance packages, including an SC757 Z06. In its 2017 Corvette brochure, Callaway rated the SC757 at 757 hp at 6,300 rpm and 777 lb-ft at 4,200 rpm, SAE-rated. Those figures describe that performance specification, not every AeroWagen or a stock C7.

The same 2017 brochure lists a 6.2-liter (376-cubic-inch) engine and a Callaway-patented 2,300-cc GenThree supercharger in place of the Z06’s stock 1,740-cc unit. Which C7 models may fit
Callaway’s package information lists the C7 Stingray, Grand Sport and Z06 coupe family and identifies compatibility with standard Corvettes as well as Callaway SC627 Stingray/Grand Sport and SC757 Z06 versions. Its project page specifically calls out Stingray and Z06. Because fitment can depend on model year, trim and build, confirm the exact car with Callaway before ordering. The AeroWagen is presented as a coupe package, not a convertible conversion.

What to confirm before buying
Callaway’s package page does not publish a current price; it directs prospective buyers to contact the company. Get a current written quote rather than relying on an older estimate, and establish what the quoted work includes.
- Confirm fitment: Give Callaway the C7’s model year, trim and any existing Callaway specification, and get confirmation for that specific car.
- Define the scope: Establish whether the purchase is the hatch conversion alone or also includes an engine package such as SC627 or SC757.
- Set paint and installation terms: Confirm who paints and installs the parts, where the work will be done, and what happens to the original hatch.
- Check warranty coverage: The package page describes a three-year/36,000-mile warranty on AeroWagen components against workmanship or defects. It excludes paint and installation unless Callaway paints or installs the kit at its Connecticut or California facilities. Ask the seller to confirm the terms that apply to the actual order.
- Get price and timing in writing: The published page gives no current package price. It also does not establish current order lead time or production total, so ask the company for current availability and timing.
Is it the right kind of Corvette upgrade?
The AeroWagen is for a buyer who wants a distinct shooting-brake silhouette and a hatch conversion on a C7 coupe. It is not, by itself, an engine upgrade or evidence of additional cargo capacity. If power is part of the goal, treat that as a separate package decision and verify the specifications and terms for the particular car. The available official information does not establish a directly equivalent competing C7 shooting-brake conversion, so it does not support calling the AeroWagen the only option.
