What BYD showed in August 2024
On August 24, 2024, BYD released the first official images of the Seal 06 GT and said the car was due to debut at the Chengdu auto show on August 30. CnEVPost reported that the production car was based on the Ocean-M concept and had a sportier, but less aggressive, exterior than the show car. What was reported about the original 2024 model
In its August 30, 2024 debut coverage, CnEVPost described the Seal 06 GT as based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo and available with either a single motor or dual motors. The reported single-motor outputs were 160 kW or 165 kW; the dual-motor setup paired a 110 kW front motor with a 200 kW rear motor. The same report listed an 800-volt silicon-carbide high-voltage platform, a 30–80% charging time of 20 minutes, and an 80–100% time of 18 minutes. CnEVPost also attributed to BYD the description of the car as “the first GT model for young people and the industry’s first rear-wheel-drive, all-electric performance hatchback.” That is the company’s positioning, not an independently verified industry-first finding. CnEVPost’s report quoting BYD

CarNewsChina reported an overall guide-price range of 128,900–169,900 yuan across the four configurations, but did not state the two middle-trim prices in the cited report. CarNewsChina reported 2026 dimensions of 4,630 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,490 mm high, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. It also reported a 200 kW motor for the 520 and 520 Plus configurations and said driver-assistance equipment varies by trim.
