The May 29, 2024 launch date and RMB 120,000–150,000 price range were pre-launch forecasts, not the final announcement. BYD introduced the Qin L DM-i in China on May 28, 2024, with five versions priced from RMB 99,800 to RMB 139,800. The latest update located, reported on January 8, 2026, has different trims, ranges and prices.
What happened to the May 29 launch forecast?
A May 9, 2024 report by CnEVPost said local media expected the Qin L DM-i to launch on May 29, with prices of RMB 120,000–150,000. That was an advance estimate. BYD held the China launch event in Xi’an on May 28, according to BYD and Xinhua. The announced starting and top prices were both below the forecast range.
What were the actual 2024 China prices?
Xinhua reported five launch versions, priced at RMB 99,800–139,800. The individual prices below are listed in CarNewsChina’s May 28, 2024 launch report; these are China domestic prices, not export or landed prices.

What changed in the January 2026 update?
Autohome reported a revised Qin L DM-i on January 8, 2026, with four configurations and stated CLTC electric ranges of 128 km or 210 km. The same report described promotional prices as time-limited; check with a China-market dealer for current availability rather than treating those offers as guaranteed.

How should the range and fuel-consumption figures be read?
2024 model claims
For the 2024 launch, Xinhua reported 80 km and 120 km CLTC electric-range versions, 2.9 L/100 km low-charge fuel consumption in NEDC terms, and 2,100 km combined range. BYD’s May 30, 2024 announcement also claimed 46.06% maximum engine thermal efficiency. These are manufacturer or published specification claims, not independently established real-world results; actual consumption and range depend on conditions and use.
2026 update claims
Autohome reported that the 210 km version in the 2026 update has a 25.28 kWh battery, 210 km CLTC electric range, 2,110 km combined range and NEDC low-charge consumption of 2.79 L/100 km. Keep these reported 2026 figures separate from the 2024 model’s range and efficiency claims.

Is the Qin L DM-i available outside China?
The launch prices and trim data above concern the China market. A third-party export listing explicitly disclaims being an authorized BYD dealer, distributor or affiliate, and an independent dealer directory does not establish official Qin L DM-i sales or partner status in any country: export listing and independent dealer directory. Before considering an import, verify local sale and import rules, the seller’s authorization, warranty coverage and access to service. The cited domestic prices do not establish what an imported car would cost.
