BYD Australia is offering $4,000 including GST off selected new vehicles ordered from 1 October to 21 December 2026 and delivered by 31 December 2026. The campaign includes specified Seal 6, Sealion 5 and Shark 6 variants, plus eligible Sealion 6, Sealion 7 and Sealion 8 models. The discount is not universal: variant eligibility, delivery timing and exclusions apply.
Which BYD models qualify for the $4,000 cashback?
BYD’s offer names these eligible variants:
- Seal 6: Essential sedan and Touring Premium.
- Sealion 5: Essential and Premium.
- Shark 6: Premium, Performance and Dynamic Cab Chassis.
- Other eligible ranges: Sealion 6, Sealion 7 and Sealion 8. Check the offer terms for the qualifying variants in each range.
The Sealion 7 is eligible for cashback, but BYD does not include it in the models listed for the separate 0.99% comparison-rate finance offer. See BYD Australia’s offers page for the current eligibility list and full terms.
What are the order and delivery deadlines?
The vehicle must be ordered between 1 October and 21 December 2026 and delivered by 31 December 2026. BYD says it may review a late delivery individually and may approve an extension; an extension is discretionary, not guaranteed. Confirm the expected delivery date with the dealer before placing an order.
Who is excluded from the cashback?
BYD’s terms exclude fleet customers, demonstrator vehicles and service-loan vehicles. Transactions involving additional promotional offers or discounts are also excluded from the cashback. Ask the dealer to confirm in writing which offer applies to your transaction rather than assuming discounts can be stacked.

How does the separate 0.99% finance offer compare?
BYD separately advertises finance at a 0.99% p.a. comparison rate for specified eligible models over 36 months, with no minimum deposit and no balloon. The finance application must be approved by 21 December 2026 and settlement completed by 31 December 2026. The Sealion 7 is not among the models listed for this finance offer, even though it qualifies for cashback.
The finance promotion and cashback are separate offers. BYD’s terms do not establish that a buyer can combine them, so get confirmation for the specific vehicle and transaction before comparing them. Consider:
