Bugatti published a 273-mph top speed in the customer car’s top-speed mode; the much-quoted 304.773-mph figure came from a one-way test run, not the published top speed for customer cars. Its original announced price was €3.5 million net per car, and Bugatti completed deliveries in July 2022.
What the Chiron Super Sport 300+ is
Bugatti announced the Chiron Super Sport 300+ in 2019 as a customer edition based on the Chiron derivative used for its high-speed run. The company limited production to 30 cars. It is distinct from the later Chiron Super Sport, rather than another name for that model.

At launch, Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann called it “a very special edition model and the fastest Bugatti ever”. That description reflects the model’s position in Bugatti’s lineup at the time, not an independent road-test conclusion.

Why 304.773 mph needs context
Bugatti announced that a Chiron Super Sport 300+ specification car reached 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) in 2019, describing the result as a production hyper sports car record. The figure is the celebrated test-run result; it is not the official top speed listed for customer cars.

- Detailed chassis
- Package Weight: 1.17 pounds
Motor Authority reported that the run was not a conventional two-way record attempt: the required runs in opposite directions were not made. The careful distinction is that Bugatti publicized a 304.773-mph one-way test run, while the customer-car technical sheet specifies 273 mph in top-speed mode. The run should not be presented as an uncontested, currently verified all-time production-car record.

The figures below are from Bugatti’s technical sheet. They are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.

| Dimensions | Length: 4,733 mm; width: 2,183 mm including mirrors; height: 1,212 mm; wheelbase: 2,711 mm |

| Tires | BG2; 285/30 R20 front and 355/25 R21 rear |
Bugatti’s technical sheet also includes fuel-consumption and CO₂ data. Those figures require the document’s specific test-cycle, geographic and homologation qualifications to be meaningful; they should not be treated as a prediction of real-world economy.
Longtail design and identifying details
The 300+ was shaped for high-speed stability and reduced drag. Bugatti described an extended, aerodynamically optimized body and front air curtains at launch. In its 2021 delivery update, the company said the longtail extension added 25 cm and reduced aerodynamic stall by more than 40 percent. Bugatti also described pressure outlets in the wheel arches. These are manufacturer explanations of the design, not independent aerodynamic test findings.

The launch specification paired exposed jet-black carbon fiber with Jet Orange center stripes. Bugatti also highlighted carbon-fiber elements including the engine cover and windscreen wiper, plus lightweight magnesium wheels. These visual cues help distinguish the edition in period photographs from other Chiron variants.
Price, production and availability
Bugatti announced an original price of €3.5 million net per car. Car and Driver reported an approximately $3.9 million contemporary conversion in its September 2019 launch coverage; that was not a manufacturer-set U.S. MSRP and is not a current valuation. Bugatti said the 30-car run was sold out in its 2021 delivery update, when cars were still being built, and announced completion of deliveries in July 2022.

Review: what can and cannot be said about driving it
No independent road test specifically evaluating a customer Chiron Super Sport 300+ was identified. The published acceleration and top-speed figures are Bugatti’s specifications, and the 304.773-mph run was not a normal owner drive. Car and Driver’s 2021 Chiron review provides context on the broader Chiron lineup, but it is not a dedicated 300+ road test. A firsthand driving verdict for this limited edition would therefore go beyond the available evidence.
