Brad Pitt’s F1 The Movie is already streaming on Apple TV. Apple’s global streaming debut took place on December 12, 2025, so the film is no longer an upcoming release. It can be watched through the Apple TV app on supported smart TVs, streaming devices, game consoles, phones, tablets and computers, as well as through tv.apple.com. [C1][C2]
F1 The Movie streaming release date

That means older headlines saying Brad Pitt’s racing movie was “finally setting” a streaming date are now out of date. The correct current status, as of the dossier’s August 12, 2026 verification, is that F1 The Movie has completed its theatrical, digital-purchase and physical-media rollout and is available through Apple TV.

Important distinction: “Streaming on Apple TV” is not the same as buying the movie in the Apple TV Store. Streaming access is provided through Apple’s subscription service, while an electronic purchase is a separate ownership-style transaction. Availability, pricing and subscription terms vary by country and can change.

Physical editions include 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD formats in at least some markets. If you want a permanent disc copy rather than subscription access, look for the F1 The Movie 4K UHD Blu-ray from an authorized retailer. Confirm the package’s region, included discs and availability before ordering, because editions are not necessarily identical worldwide.
A documented Warner Bros. regional 4K UHD/Blu-ray release includes approximately 155 minutes of feature runtime and approximately 52 minutes of bonus material. Listed extras include a table read, the film’s crash scenes, driver training, the fictional APXGP team, Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton’s involvement, sets and locations, the red-flag scene and the making of the movie’s “sound of speed.” Those specifications come from a market-specific edition and should not automatically be assumed to apply to every country’s release. [C7]
Some qualifying Warner Bros. Blu-ray and UHD titles bought from authorized retailers may include digital codes, but codes can expire. Do not assume that every F1 The Movie disc package contains a valid code; check the exact listing and packaging before buying. [C9][C10]
What is F1 The Movie about?
Brad Pitt plays a former Formula One driver who returns to the sport and joins APXGP, a fictional struggling team. He is paired with Damson Idris’s young driver, creating the central conflict between experience, ambition and the pressure to produce results at the highest level of motorsport.
The movie was directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose credits include Top Gun: Maverick, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, Lewis Hamilton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman. Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay, while Hans Zimmer composed the score. [C2][C3][C8]

The principal cast includes:
- Brad Pitt
- Damson Idris
- Kerry Condon
- Javier Bardem

- Sarah Niles
- Kim Bodnia
- Samson Kayo
F1 The Movie was made in collaboration with Formula 1 rather than being a fictional racing production created entirely away from the championship. The filmmakers shot material during actual Grand Prix weekends, with involvement from the F1 community, teams, drivers, the FIA and race promoters. Lewis Hamilton also served as a producer and contributed to the project’s effort to make the fictional APXGP team fit within the real Formula One environment. [C2][C3]
Reception and awards context
Apple said on October 13, 2025, that the film had passed $629 million worldwide after its theatrical run and described it as the highest-grossing sports film at that time. Because box-office totals and rankings can be revised, that figure should be understood as Apple’s dated announcement rather than an unchanging lifetime statistic. [C1]

- Choose Apple TV streaming if you want the simplest way to watch and already have access to the service on a compatible device.
- Choose a digital purchase if you want retailer-based access without relying on the movie remaining in a subscription catalog. Check the retailer’s terms, resolution and supported devices.
- Choose 4K UHD or Blu-ray if you collect physical movies, want the included bonus features in a documented edition or need an option that does not depend on a streaming catalog.
- Choose DVD if you have older playback equipment and do not need the higher-resolution formats.
There is no need to buy an Apple device merely to watch the film. A supported smart TV, game console, computer, phone, tablet or streaming device may be enough. Amazon Fire TV is one compatible device family, but it is an optional solution rather than a requirement.
